It is not like we take big bets serious but yeah still bigger bets actually makes us feel much worse than what a small loss would have.
The best way to gamble, that I personally recommend is bet small and bet on higher odds or do the opposite, bet big and on very low odds ( around 1.05 to 1.1 ) this way I made some nice profit but anyways all lost in sports.

i agree with Positid said and its true because many of gamblers for first time using small amount for gambling and then that gamblers see that his chance to winning is not big, then he decided to  continue to playing gambling and using the other money just expecting to get winning in the games, but in the end he is only get loss.
