Bittrex ETH wallet stuck in maintenance for a long time

Okay I was whacked just a bit with the bitfinex attack not much but some.

So Last night I go to the bittrex exchange thinking to see my accounts there.

 I notice that the ETH account is in maintenance 8 hours ago,

so I say I will check it this morning  well it is still in maintenance.

I have sent a support request  so far an auto reply.

So if you have a bittrex account  with ETH coins please take a look if you are stuck in maintenance.


To mods  yeah I know this is about the ETH coin wallet on Bittrex, but Bittrex  has sizable BTC amounts in their control.


This is not spreading FUD about bittrex, but an effort to  see WTF is happening.  Basically  is this going to be a Bitfinex, but with ETH?.

What makes you think exactly that their wallets have been compromised?
I don't use Bittrex myself, but on other exchanges it's not that unusual for wallets to go in maintenance mode for a couple of hours..

At the moment, hackers will rather hack ETC than hack ETH.

Bittrex probably got scared with what happened to Bitfinex and wanted to take extra precautions.

 once again not a lot of coin at stake  but no reply from my email and eth wallet is still not accessible.

i believe you  no need to panic , may be bittrex might have precautionary made it maintenance mode to prevent from hacking or they may be adding some security features on the wallet menu , open support ticket and wait.

they emailed me at 2:49am

the wallet is now fixed

my small amount of eth coins are intact.

Due to the bitfinex mess I needed some coin so I cashed these coins out today from ETH to BTC .  I then withdrew the BTC.

Just checked my wallet on bittrex and found that actually both ETH and ETH classic wallets are in maintenance mood. Also searched for updates in their twitter account no any words about it. I think this is normal maintenance haven't noticed from how long these wallets are in maintenance.

Three days with a SIA wallet in maintenance at shittrex. The first rule of markets is trust no one. These bastards are probably borrowing coins by tying up wallets in fake maintenance mode announcements, then once they cover, voila, the wallet is magically back.

Maintenance again on Bittrex for Ethereum, and it says ETA 30 minutes since much more than 30 minutes... Does anybody know why?

I am just speculating here but I am guessing it has to do with A) the massive amount of movement that ETH and all its tokens receive B) the increased traffic due to the growing Crypto scene and Polo starting to fade in popularity has hammered their servers and possible exposed performance issues and C) the sheer number of tokens is incredible and I bet they are having trouble managing them all and keeping up with those updates.

Can't find any official tweet in their twitter handler regarding this issue but few days ago they had similar issue and they have posted this tweet

I agree that is a little wierd, i wonder if it has to do anything with the DB update. Or the iplementation or ERC223 tokens for ethireum (probably)
