Are you planning to sell bitcoins on craiglist?

If yes, you had better arrange to meet your potential buyer one-on-one as bitcoin transactions are irreversible. I would recommend using a bitcoin exchange like coinbase since you live in U.S.

Are you talking about posting to meet someone in person to exchange cash for coins?
If you do, I would be very careful about where you meet.
People get killed over an Xbox on Craigslist all the time.
I would rather use one of the exchanges or sell them here on the forum than put myself at risk of meeting a stranger in person.

I love these threads by people who are lazy or can't write English,  or both, where after their question is asked no one can figure out what the hell the OP is trying to say.  I would have no idea how to answer this one, and even if we knew the question,  the answer probably only requires common sense and not a legal opinion.

Go for it OP.  Sell til your heart's content on craigslist.  You'll probably end up getting robbed at gunpoint, but go for it.

Their is nothing wrong with my English.. Sorry my OP was too concise for you, let me extrapolate..

Is it legal to sell a funded physical bitcoin on craigslist? If no, then how about unfunded ones?
Is it legal to sell funded physical alt coins on craigslist? If no, then how about unfunded ones?

Is it legal to sell small amounts of BTC/ALTs on craigslist?

I posted in LEGAL because I want to know about the LEGALITIES of bitcoin and advertising private sales on a site such as craigslist..

Don't worry about the meeting people and potentially getting robbed, I have that end covered, business as usual..

I have no problem dealing with wannabe thugs, I know how they operate, it's the LAW that I am asking for assistance on...

I think the legal problems to do with funded bitcoins are all down to the people who create them, not the subsequent owners who sell them on. that's an individual sale, not like the people who create them who were pumping them out by the hundreds.

The rest all depends on what country you're in. Are you in the united states? then it's possible you might get some money transmitting problems if you're selling even small amounts and they decide it's a business.

I would rather deal P2P, face to face. I don't want to deal with any stupid accounts and 3rd parties..

If you want to buy and sell Bitcoin recommend coinbase / localbitcoins. I do not understand much of what you said  Embarrassed Angry

I don't understand why you can't understand me..

I just want to find out if the cops are going to come knocking on my door if I list a loaded physical bitcoin on craigslist, or also list BUY/SELL BTC..

Don't worry about people robbing me, I am used to $1,000 cash deals face to face with random people.. Like I said, business as usual.. Just not crypto..

So, what are the potential LEGAL dangers I could face for trading small amounts of straight crypto or loaded physical coins... Lets say less than $1k deals..

I'm thinking that an add for a physical bitcoin for sale would be a good catalyst to buying/selling BTC without having to explicitly state that I'm looking to buy/sell BTC.. That would just be also available..

OP wants to do the deal himself, he does not want to go through middlemen a.k.a exchanges.

USA did not ban bitcoin, so why would a cop arrest you for selling something that is not under a ban?

You would have better luck meeting face to face. I know a guy that stands on a corner in NYC and will take people's cash and give them Bitcoin for 10% of whatever was needed. He would sell them too. Making a average of $1500 a day. Also laundering cash thru Bitcoin is another way to make your bitcoins make money for you.

Funded and unfunded.. ??

LTC-DOGE ??

Inform me on the Craigslist/Bitcoin dynamic if you would please..

I'm not aware of any jurisdiction served by Craigslist where this is against the law.
Details matter of course.
For example, large cash transactions in Louisiana are legally uncertain.
MSB registration for large amounts and persistent business operation is recommended.

PHYSICAL bitcoins are those coin shaped bitcoin wallets made popular by Casascius, usually made of bronze or silver.  They may or may not contain bitcoin because in recent years, there was some legal hassles for Mike where they want him to register as a MSB.  Consequently he sold them without bitcoin in the wallet for a while.

So a "funded" physical bitcoin is one with bitcoin sent to it.

What I don't understand is the people that are suggesting that he sell these on an exchange....   Huh

You just have to ignore those posts about selling these coins on an exchange.
At best, you can sell your physical bitcoins to the equivalent of a pawn broker.
