They are already sold. Haven't you checked the huge volumes that day? Volumes matched exactly with the stolen amount. No need to worry about that anymore. If they haven't sold them not get tracked, they could always use coin mixers anyway. Once the coins are stolen it is over. You can do nothing about it.

Probably not, something like that would inflict market too much. They will sell it in waves, we felt first one. Next one no one will notice, people will wonder why price is going down. When someone move big amounts with bitcoin, probably that cause price fluctuate so much.
I know I`m not an expert, but that is logical explanation. Who knows what hackers have in mind with millions they have now. We can just imagine here what they did with bitcoins they stole from bitfinex. When you opened this topic, Mt.Gox can also be considered in here. Are coins from that robbery sold, or someone still keep them for price rise? I will guess that they have a stash, like some investment, and back up plan if they spent all money.

usually these hackers won't sell the coins for many years at a time. they keep the coins in a couple of bitcoin addresses for a couple of years at least and when everybody started to forget about hem, that is when they start running the coins through mixers and selll it very slowly.

I think the hacker already sold all hacked bitcoins because the hacker want secure the bitcoins. If i were the hacker, i will sell all them step by step. The hacker will get rich instantly.

The hacker would have sold some of it for sure, but I don't think he has sold all of it... the price of bitcoins would have fallen to less than $520 if he had sold all at once.

Its bullish with this amount of coin missing and difficult to sell, we still have a ton of people with BFXcoin waiting to buy back BTC. Im one of them!

If the hacker has sold their bitcoins the bitcoin market price will be much lower because the sale will drive the price down. |

Anybody who takes the chance to sell off those coins are going to be looking over their shoulders for the rest of their lives.
They will have to answer to a lot of people once they get caught.
Who says they'll ever sell them? They could always spend them an anonymous services and still live the rest of their lives not worrying at all what might happen. It could also be that the hackers were hired to do this and someone already bought them right away at a discounted price to buy illegal goods. |

Well I think that was sold too. Because think about after the incident the price decrease rapidly and after for some weeks the price is increasing it again. I guess that is because the demand of bitcoin increased as the hacker sold it already and it is in the market already that helped the price to recover but not for bitfinex. |

but if a person was going to hack the such a big exchange and take the money, why will he thing about such thing and second is that is there any why to distinguish about the bitcoin that were stolen from the exchange? to catch them and then punish them, and according to what law they will be punished if they even caught. |

They're going to sell it part by part not one time selling , Or they using it for there prososal like creating a new site or exchange ? Of hackers something like that? And they gonna use it to funds there project it there are going to sell that bitcoins maybe they going to be detected. I think it is Inside job.

Nope. These coins will get mixed in a very slow but efficient manner. Once that is done, they can start using these "clean" coins, but in very low amounts. I guess they will probably do it by the 1-5BTC per time in order to not get too much attention pointed at them. It will be a time consuming process, but once done, they are multi millionaire with coins that they can freely move back and forth.

If you think about it, it may be those hackers that keeps the price rising so they can dump everything they've got on us. well you have some point about it but i think they slowly sold it so it cannot affect the bitcoins price and surely hackers dont esnt bitcoins die or going to dump since they can earn huge profit if they can maintain the price at this matter. and lets move on for that issue since the damage has been and hackers are so rich by this time surely they are still on party mode for such huge money they get from bitfinnex. |

Nope, but I think it's mainly done to prevent the public from knowing where the coins have gone. And you probably can let your imagination do the rest... Everything around the "hack" of Bitfinex stinks. |

Nope, but I think it's mainly done to prevent the public from knowing where the coins have gone. And you probably can let your imagination do the rest... Everything around the "hack" of Bitfinex stinks. yes and i think it s not so easy to to do so, and i think they will have already move the money into a safe place and they must have done some arrangement for the bitcoins they hacked. |
