Swap a S9 BB board?

I am waiting for Bitmain to send me a new BB board and controller for a S9 that only got to be used for 8 hrs since I received it. Is there any way to use a S7 board or even s4/s5. When I put an S7 board on the S9 and tried to updated the firmware to a s9 it wouldn't allow it. Does anyone know a way to get around this with Putty or any thing else. I will sow my appreciation with a tip if they can get this damn thing running that has sat for 2 weeks while bitmain waits for new boards
