So these are the new stupid Steam game gifting restrictions by Valve:

1 - You can't buy a game that's VAC or Game Ban enabled and store them in your inventory to gift it later. The game must be sent immediately to the giftee.

2 - This one is just insane: if you gift someone a game that's VAC or Game Ban enabled and the person who received the gift gets banned in that game later, you ARE FOREVER BANNED from gifting that game to ANYONE ELSE.

Do you happen to be one of Valve's sponsored shills who ruin all discussions on the Steam forums (Start_Running, Satoru, Zetikla, etc.)? Or are you just plain dense?

I did not mean any offense. But I am genuinely curious why you think the move is stupid for Steam? Obviously, it is frustrating for Steam users, but I don't see it discouraging anyone from using Steam either.

I can also see a side effect of their move being that people cannot stockpile games during sales as easily (they will have to pay full price if they want to buy the game).

Just another way to protect their Business. Valve would like you to only use their online store and not any of the Websites sellings games as gifts.

1. "Here you go buddy, I present you my best handcrafted hunting knife! Happy B-Day!"
2. Dude goes on rampage killing innocents
3. "Mr. Knifemaker, you are now not allowed to giveaway your cool expensive knifes to anyone, because your stupid friend sliced someone with it"
4. Huh??
5. PROFIT!
