The bitcoin concept is very new to me so I am sorry if this question sounds stupid from my behalf.

If you are a retailer you can use Bitpay (https://bitpay.com/) or WalletBit (https://walletbit.com/) - they provide shopping cart integration solutions for allowing you to accept Bitcoins on your website and - optionally - automatically converting to your local currency (Euro's I'm assuming?) and sending the balance to your nominated bank account. Process works really well by all accounts... Check out their websites for more information.

What do you want to do? Get paid in Bitcoin? Yes you can do that. Generate a Bitcoin address in your wallet. Give that address to your customer. Let him pay you in Bitcoin to that address. You have now been paid in Bitcoin.

This is a good start. One could also avoid paying 1% to those payment processor and process transactions without them.

Note to self: when really bored create a free open source virtualbox image that replaces bitpay. But I would prefer that someone steals this idea.

The following precious metals dealer has a working solution which cost him nothing to implement, it is not beautiful but it has worked 100% from day 1, and to repeat, did not require anything. Even the wallet is offline:
