I wonder how many people are punching themselves for panicking and selling around $10/btc.

This sort of behavior is expected and what creates a floor / support in the market. Go on, sell, I'll be buying.

Hahaha agreed! I think when sudden fluctuations like that happen, its important to look at the broader picture : Yes, Bitcoin is fairly young and ocasionally a little unstable at times. But as more people learn about the benefits of using a decentralised peer-to-peer currency, demand will gradually increase while supply remains fairly stable over time. Which way does value go, long term? Also worth remembering that plenty of people tried calling:"timber!" the last time Bitcoin's value dropped suddenly (a few weeks ago). The more often this happens, the less notice people will take of these Bitcoin-doomsday-lunatics and the more seriously the world is forced to consider Bitcoin as a currency. I just used this opportunity to run out and buy a whole load more BTC so yeah, anyone desparately looking to sell quickly and cheaply should contact me! Lol

In order to make a buy, which drive the price back up, someone has to be selling. If no one were selling, you couldn't buy your cheap bitcoins. Everyone has their own reasons for getting into and out of the market. So don't judge them for selling, just be grateful for buying them all up!

How many bitcoiners are young/inexperienced and invested a lot more than they probably should have? It must have been terrible to wait for a week+ to get their money into mt. gox, buy at ~$30, then watch it fall to $10. I would qualify as an inexperienced bitcoiner, but didn't invest too much. I can't say I was overjoyed to see the price drop (I bought at an average of about $28), but at the time I was thankful that it wasn't higher. Overall I don't see any problem in the price getting back over $28, and well over it at that.

only people who are using them as currency as the price hasn't moved to much in the last few days. looks like we are seeing the holding price for the next few months.... but who knows the pump and dumpers can mess things up fairly quick
