Ok, I think I will put my new member introduction-since it doesnt contain much "substance" anyway; in collusion with my probably dumb-been answered as many times as Bitcoins are divisible-guaranteed to infuriate prob 90% of the community, ignorant questions that are about to follow
.......vvvvvvvvvvv.........

I am new to bitcoin but not exactly new to its principals/theory(s). First off, My name is Kerec 33, dad, husband, american(normal guy). Got hurt at work last year......blah, blah. Cant do much..... Anyway I got introduced to "currency" ideas/forms playing Madden 16 on xbox at a site called MUThead. The site has a currency called MHC. Its a pretty limited use form of currency but to the members of MUThead who love the game of madden it has value. You can trade MHC for various things on the site as well as in-game coins to purchase better players for the game, have a better team, etc. etc. So I guess my point is  that I am not ignorant to bitcoin and its properties, potentials, values, and so on. I personally think its the future of trade and is going to only gain awareness, acceptance and eventually common preference as trade continues to evolve and things like the internet become even more understood, used, sought after as means to trade and do business. My issues are with the logistics and the interface applications. So many different "wallets" exchange applications, addresses, deposit, withdraw, send, request, buy, sell.... faucets......altcoins....its just confusing the hell out of me for some reason. I just started trying to produce bitcoins yesterday and already I have 10-20 locations/sites/wallets or whatever containing fractions of bitcoins that I have found hard to move into one (or even two) central "accounts" with versatilty.Do I deposit or withdraw? Send or request? Buy, sell??? I want to accumulate bitcoin through the various methods and sites available but I want to eventually have the accumulation of the bitcoin into a central account or location from which I can conduct ALL my trade activities and transactions. Can anyone simplify this mess for me?

Thanks

I will not explain the entire Bitcoin eco system for you, but I will give you some interesting links and Google search terms:

1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZloHVKk7DHk (Bitcoin security explained pretty easy)

2. Google "Bitcoin Offline Wallet Linux Live System" and learn how to create an offline wallet with Bitcoin core on a Linux live system"

3. Its good to read Satoshi's Bitcoin White Paper https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf

4. Experiment with low amounts until you feel safe to move bigger amounts of Bitcoins.

Bitcoin is not a bubble, it's the pin!

well said ! expect the faucets , dont even bother spend your time with that ! your eye will bleed solving captchas or click images, and you need 1 day for 10$ at tops (if the faucet dont scam you with fees, etc etc)

Faucets are meant just to test how Bitcoin works, do not expect to get much out of them (a lot of work filling the captchas, and so little Bitcoin in return).

I would try xapo online wallet for your tests, I heard you dont pay the transaction fees when you send Bitcoin transactions there so it can save you a lot of Satoshis from accumulating your micro transactions to one Bitcoin address.

Wow, why do you have so many wallets?  Do you mean you have all those addresses?  That's a bit different.

If you're confused (or baffled) by all the cryptocurrency that's available, join the club, which includes in its membership most people who aren't shitcoin developers.  There's so much garbage and scams and drama out there, that you would have to devote full-time-work amounts of time just to understand what's going on.

Never heard of what sounds like the in-game currency you mentioned, but if any crypto survives it's going to be bitcoin.  The rest are the property of delusional dreamers.  Good luck to you, sir.

OP, I suggest you read and learn as much as you can before moving forward with Bitcoin.

You should understand what a private key is and why it is important.
You should learn how to use an air-gapped device to create and store private keys (this process is known as cold storage).
You should grasp the concept of a block chain and realize that there are reasons why transactions have fees and take time to confirm (and why confirmations are important).
You should realize that Bitcoin is still a relatively new, disruptive technology and that comes with a volatile exchange rate (don't panic when your bitcoins gain or lose 10% of their value in one day).
You should be able to read my signature and fully grasp the concept behind it.

Once you've done these things, you should be comfortable that you have the knowledge required to secure large amounts of value with Bitcoin. Until you've obtained that knowledge, and applied it properly, you should fully expect to lose all your bitcoins to various hacks, scams, and thefts.

If you aren't the sole controller of your private keys, you don't have any bitcoins.

If you know the OP is a newbie and better to trying a small task for giving him any knowledge about bitcoin, it's not about the amount you can find from the faucet but it's about the working system of bitcoin. because also need to learn bitcoin not just wanna to gathering from bitcoin. and whether what the way he can try if he doesn't understand about bitcoin.
