Why would business accept anything else but Bitcoin?

Off the top of my head:
SilkRoad
Bitcoin block size argument
AML teaching that Bitcoin is money laundering/terrorist funding tool.

I think what is more likely to happen is implementation of some lowly altcoin as a replacement for airline miles, credit card points, supermarket loyalty cards.  A unified loyalty system for JetBlue, Publix, Capital One and Marriott, for example, using an altcoin that is cheap enough to make large-scale redemption uncommon, but worth enough for people to trade within the loyalty system and be happy to win in contests.

I see a future in a new series of coins, initiated by the DDoScoin proposal.
Maybe we will see a Allahu Ackbar coin which explodes when you download it ?

Not one single alt will get anywhere near adoption outaide their own little world.

We'll see more stuff like steem but that'll still be used to earn more bitcoin. That don't count as adoption to me.

Maybe there'll be something that comes from nowhere but i ain't holding my breath.

So of all the newest projects being released right now, and also all the ones currently gaining ground right now, which Alt coins do you think will be most adopted in 2017?

Most probably those coins funded heavily such as Waves, breakout coin, Xaurum and right now, antshares. There are more of them which are considerable good project and they might just rise later after those who are on to top already like ETH and Dash.

You might wanna invest to these coins today for they are still cheap. Don't wait for it to go a dollar each.

ethereum has a very big marketcap perhaps it's possible that it will be adopted as a side coin for bitcoin, it offer something over bitcoin, so being not a directly contender put it in a good position for aodption

I would say Synereo. It has climbed to number 14 on coinmarketcap.com, that looks really promising for a coin that only launched recently. Not that I fancy the idea behind it -  too much like steem to me.

ETC/ETH and Factom. Not necessarily in that order. ETH/ETC has seen developer adoption and in time these developers will do good. Factom has seen interest from Department of Homeland Security which has the possibility of translating into other departments of US government.

I think in the future there'll be less emphasis on the technology used and more focus on building products that people want. The majority of people don't care if it is built on blockchain technology they care if the product is any useful to them.

Things will remain the same without much change, I do not think any alt coin can be considered as "most adopted" at least in next year.

If anything, disgruntled steem users (be it they missed the train, lost trading, dislike the platform etc.) will migrate to synereo and surely cause its popularity to surge, albeit however long it may be.

I haven't delved into the mechanics behind either, but seems as if Synereo has been in the workings for far longer & has much more transparency behind the whole project.  Steem appeared to just create new tokens & shifted game plans out of nowhere (to me at least - but again I never studied it too much).

The thing that pisses me off about Steem is how users just shitpost and circlejerk over how awesome it is, in attempts to get more steem/sd/whatever...rather than actually using it as a replacement to other social media platforms.

Think all the privacy coins will see widespread adoption and PR in 2017: monero, dash, Z-cash etc. Think Ethereum Classic, if it hangs around that long, will also do well.

[Steem may lose some credit if it is discovered that very few people on Steem have most of the voting power.  People might like the idea of Steem but want something more decnetralized like Synereo claims to be.]

Maybe STRAT, it is a new coin developed for businesses, with C# bitcoin full node and blockchain consultancy, many good features.

I always see some users suggesting stratis. How is this better compare to bitcoin?
And does this have mass adoption feature?

I still think eth will be the most adopted later.

Great post.
Alts don't really get adopted.
They get traded or used on a short term to increase the BTC amount or to cash out some part in fiat later.
Each alt exist in it's own microworld where a breakout from is mostly wishful thinking.

When will ethereum lovers finally see that ETH is a coin going on its jolly way to suicide. The coin has been over-hyped for too long.

The one that I have a close eye on, but that is really difficult to understand is Tau Chain Agoras. It can be revolutionary, but at the same time it can fail miserably because it's so difficult to understand unless you have a degree in Computer Science and are a mathematician.

Good question, I am also a stratis lover.   Cheesy

How is this better compare to bitcoin?

I think Stratis offers C# full nodes, it means bitcoin code will be rewritten in stratis, bitcoin is coded with C++, but C++ is difficult to implement bank and corporation dapps. You see why lisk and eth offer different language platform cuz C++ is really difficult to build easy-use and simpler dapps. Stratis will be first C# business platform, let's see.

And does this have mass adoption feature?

If more C# devs develop business dapps in this platform, there will be a mass adoption, like ethereum has lots of devs.
