Website: http://BitcoinGRID.net/ The BitcoinGRID is a grid of pixels sold for 0.000015 BTC each - an attempt to record the early History of Bitcoin in one 3.5 Megapixel image.
About:The purpose of this site (aside from the obvious one) is to create or, more precisely, to record the still early history of Bitcoin. Personally, an adopter since 2012, I have closely followed the development and growth of this innovative cryptocurrency. Despite the volatility and the mishaps Bitcoin experienced early in its history I have always remained very enthusiastic about it - and for a good set of reasons.
No third party is required for money transfers so it empowers people to remain independent from banks, allowing for total and inalienable control over their own finances. Furthermore, it is fast and, if used correctly, very secure. The Bitcoin Network cannot feasibly be shut down or censored. No third party can seize your Bitcoin or even intercept a transfer, no matter the circumstances. No chargebacks are possible since all transactions are irreversible. And, last but not least, it is cheap to use - the transaction costs are virtually non-existent. In my opinion, Bitcoin is THE missing piece of the Internet puzzle - a protocol that allows for efficient and reliable transfer of value wherever you are, at minimum hassle and expense. This is why Bitcoin is my currency of choice. This is why I can see a bright future for Bitcoin.
The core of this site is a 1850 x 1850 grid of pixels which can be bought for Ƀ0.000015 each (1500 Satoshi or ~$0.01). The price of the spaces is guaranteed to never change - it will ALWAYS remain at the same Bitcoin value. Every area on the grid is clickable and can link to a website of your choice, including a mouseover message. Once bought, the pixels and the link will remain on the website indefinitely - this site is guaranteed to run for at least 8 years from its creation, through 11th of August, 2024. The code contains little more than HTML & CSS in its design - making it very robust against attacks as there are virtually no weaknesses a hacker could successfully exploit.
The design and layout also makes sure that the site is viewed correctly with any browser and I did my very best to make it as mobile-friendly as possible. I will put all the time and effort neccessary to maintain this website in its current, or improved, shape and form for the foreseeable future, so your investment is safe.
Hopefully you will find this experiment worth a try.
The Rules of this website are simple and straightforward: • Pixels have to be bought in multiples of 100 (10x10px blocks), which cost Ƀ0.0015 each (~$0.89 at the time of the last update of this page).
• No links to illegal content are allowed, like human trafficking, illegal pornography and instructions on how to obtain and produce illegal items, with the exception being cannabis enthusiast blogs and communities.
• Adult content, like legal pornography and sex cams are welcome, given that the thumbnail does not contain naked genitalia or nipples and the linked site has a means of verifying the age of the user.
• No links to websites whose sole purpose is the incitement of racial / sexual / religious discrimination and hatred - these will be removed.
• Affiliate websites are allowed as long as they adhere to the other rules.
• Keep the ad as Bitcoin-related as possible. While not a strict requirement, I will always give preferential treatment to users whose link is Bitcoin / Altcoin related rather than otherwise.
• The are NO additional costs when buying an ad space.
• If there is a problem with your ad, make sure to contact me using the same email that you used when ordering, otherwise I will be unable to identify you - if you're changing your email, let me know beforehand.
• The price to transfer the ownership of your ad is Ƀ0.01.
• The price to change the link address of your ad is Ƀ0.005.
• The price to change the image of your ad is Ƀ0.005.
If you want to get an ad space, please do the following: • Choose the size of your ad in multiples of 10 pixels (for example, 30x30, the total amount of pixels being 900, or 9 blocks).
• Find / draw an image of your choice (make sure it fits the size of the ad and you are the owner or have permission to use the image).
• Choose the URL and mouseover message for your ad - it must be a http(s) site that is reachable with any modern web browser.
• Compose an email in the following format:
Subject: I want to buy an ad
Size: [specify the desired size for the ad]
Location: [specify the on grid location where you'd like to see your ad]
URL: [specify the URL to the website]
Mouseover Message: [enter the mouseover message for your ad]
• Attach your image - it should be in .JPG, .GIF, .PNG or .BMP format.
• Send it to
BitcoinGRID@gmail.com. Within 1-24 hours, you will receive a confirmation with the exact price quote and a unique address to pay the Bitcoin into. Once you pay, the ad will appear on the grid.
