Note that this wallet is infected with malware. Do not download. This thread is to notify people of the malware as the OP is deleting comments.

GoldenCoin

Goals:

After a succesfull launch and a healthy network is acomplished, we will focus on getting services ready. Explorer, faucets, exchanges, and so on. Community involvement will be crucial in this,  as we are currently only with 2 devs. The premine will be used to reward the community for their efforts. This will be done transperantly.

When the goals above are acomplished, we will focus on getting the GOLD Store online. This will be a webshop where users can order physical GOLD with Bitcoin and GoldenCoin. If there is interest, other cryptocurrency's maybe added aswell.

We are aware that there are allready projects running who offer this. But in our experience these shops are too expensive, and too slow.
When users have to pay up to 2.5x the regular market price for gold, and have to wait for weeks for the delivery, something is wrong.

We think it's a very good way to secure some part of your investment, by being able to exchange BTC or GoldenCoin to physical Gold quickly.

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

They used my account "Perryl" to post in this  thread about downloading the wallet. I was able to recover my account today with help from Theymos(Thank you!). There is a virus in the wallet and I was infected by another wallet these same people previously posted. (The post has since been deleted because I changed it when I recovered the account.

This is pic of the deleted post from the thread I got hacked from. (Thread has since been deleted by Cyrus but Coolindark can confirm.)

This is a pic of the first deleted post where I am informing users. (there was another user that posted a virustotal. Hopefully, they can post here to confirm their deleted post)

The second one includes the OP and is too long to show, but you get the idea.

You fucked up trying to use my name to scam people. It's my mission to make sure nobody else gets hacked like you hacked me. Fools.

Let this be a reminder to everyone. 2FA everything. 2FA saved me.

Yeah that was me. A mod seems to have dealt with the original thread.

In case anyone is wondering: the original wallet at launch wasn't infected, the '1.1 update' was.

Nice to hear that you got your account back!

Thank you for your good observations, it will also be advisable for you to give us the link to the original thread as it will also give us the opportunity to check and confirm it for fairness sake.

Well done Perry, I'm glad you got your account back with the help of theymos. spreading those kind of viruses is way too easy, this is why I use VMWare to run every wallet I suspect might be a malware.

BTW, did you format your computer after you got infected?

Thanks Woody. Glad to have helped.

Thanks. Yes. They popped up a chatbox on my PC and sent me a message. I didn't even respond. I immediately shut down my PC and disconnected the ethernet. Then I backed up stuff that would be lost and reformatted. I have a SSD for my OS so it was a very quick and simple process. A waste of time, unfortunately. The reformat may have got rid of the virus but they're still trying to get at my stuff. They just tried to log my blockchain.info last night.

Remember guys, 2FA for everything. I wouldn't have been protected without it. Even if they get access to your PC and use "remember me" they can't verify the 2FA!

Thanks to OP, for spreading awareness of this. Too many coins these days are simply a veiled intrusion attempt - not only does this weaken trust in one another on this forum (as if it could get any worse!) but it makes the entire crypto currency community look bad in the eyes of possible newcomers. We need more alternative threads to official coin ANNs, like this one!
