You provide resources to the network and you'll get safecoin in return.
So, it's more about hosting data and providing bandwidth than mining. That will likely be one of the big strengths, that it doesn't burn energy just to do math but all the effort is usefully applied to supporting the network's performance. If you provide a strong node=vault, the network will prefer you over others - the detail being hammered out in the alpha testing. Also the data storage removes duplicate encrypted fragments in a way that storage will be cheaper than the sum of the files it stores, giving advantage to those supporting the network.
Getting data from the network is for free.
General public have an option to buy safecoin to pay for putting their data to the network or provide resources ahead of the spend. It's meant to be simple enough that most nodes will benefit but naturally strong node/farmers likely will have an advantage in the return they see. Ideal then for droplets, if you know how to run many of those, you'll have an advantage.
