PSA: Nobody should back up any data because it's bullshit. That's the right (ignorant) mindset. I wonder who you are going to blame once something goes wrong, your OS or Bitcoin? Roll Eyes

Please educate yourself on the origin of Bitcoin and the causes for its creation.
In order to create the intended system there can be no "proper recovery system".
If there was such an ability built in then that would defeat the purpose of using Bitcoin/bitcoin.

I support a decentralized & unregulatable ledger first, with safe scaling over time.

Recovery system? if there would be anything like that created than bitcoin will not survive as hacker may utilize that to get private key or access bitcoin of random addresses easily. Have you ever thought of how hacker/FBI easily access password protected computer included in ilegal activity? They do so because of recovery system windows have in case of forgeting your password.

If you aren't the sole controller of your private keys, you don't have any bitcoins.

With great power comes great responsibility. Everyone can lose a backup, that's true... That's why you make multiple or fragmented backups.

If you feel Bitcoin is too much responsibility, you can go on relying on the old banking system.

Honestly speaking, that's how virtual currencies work. If you would not like to do a hardware backup of the .dat file, try to print the private keys on paper and store it in a locker. This way you can still recover at any time. Same is the case for a seed based wallet, write your seed down or print it. Also, if you feel you tend to lose these easily, you can make multiple copies of it different devices/locations/paper etc.. and securely store it.
