Hey all. What makes a cryptocurrency "great" is pretty subjective for now.
It will come down to, IMO, some key points in the future but as of right now - all speculation.
So long as exchanges are centralized - there will always be a point of failure.
Also there are vast differences of opinion when it comes to...
1. Developers and Blockchain Enthusiast's.
2. Traders and Marketmakers.
3. Ideologies and Convictions.
Which makes this space so damn intriguing.
*I didn't know you could vote for 10 different Cryptocurrencies so I simply voted for VeriCoin.
(For multiple reasons that I won't go into here).
But since I'm here... well... here -
In no specific order:
Peercoin - Sunny thought outside of the box.
Monero - Great community and tech focused primarily on individual's privacy.
Ethereum - Massive project with some brilliant minds behind it.
Ethereum Classic - Interesting pushback from an idealistic yet brutally honest group.
NXT - Some of the greatest minds in one place.
Litecoin - Still has a strong Community despite some setbacks.
DASH - Evan and the team are smart.
MaidSafe - Plausible technology and use case going forward.
SteemIt - Great use case although it appears that they may need to rework their rewards system for the long term.
Primecoin - Solid use case that has gone unnoticed or under appreciated.
*Also - Gridcoin, Nexus, Curecoin, Synereo.
**I haven't had the time to check out Waves or Lisk so can't comment on either.
Cheers.
