I'm doing two speeches this weekend and two more later this week.  Yesterday's cost me about $80, and that's in addition to ongoing advocacy costs.  Please donate folks!  I'm not getting rich here, I've got no donations yet.  I'll report on what I get in donations.

Surely these speeches were advertised in advance, right?  Care to provide links so we can verify that these speeches actually took place, and that it was you that gave them?

I routinely ignore posters with paid advertising in their sigs.  You should too.

Just sell some t-shirts or something at your speeches.

Did anyone ask you to make these speeches?

Did you announce them in advance and ask for donations to cover them or have you organised them anyway and now want others to pay?

Are you a recognised high quality public speaker that we would want to pay for your services?

BTW: I've sending you all happy thoughts today, and as a professional happy thinker my services have cost me $100 so far.  Come on guys, send me some coins to cover my expenses.

I was invited and I'm a good speaker and there's evidence.  Talked for about an hour and a half today for the Bay Area Hacker's Association at Noisebridge in SF.    It went very well, but its getting expensive.

Gosh guys, you are being pretty harsh. But on the other hand, you are asking for money on an internet forum. Of course there aren't going to be a ton of people willing to just send you cash unless they are very convinced you are doing what you say and that it is having a real impact.

You'll get a better hearing if you provide us with the links and more information about where you will be going, have been, and what exactly you talked about. Not too long ago people tossed around bitcoins like they were play money. But ever since they hit $2 or so, people have started thinking of them like cash.

I'm sure there might be a few people willing to support you, you just need to make a stronger case for yourself.

Agree with others: If you can prove it some might donate (not me though, I have only 7 coins;))
