Question: Would you hock your early (<October) BitForce SC 60 GH/s?
Yeah I'd take $10,000.
No, I would need at least $18,000.
I would consider selling it in the high $20s.
You couldn't pay me enough money to sell my preorder because bitcoin will be worth $2434 each when BFL finally ships next year.

Either they are fake bidders driving the price up, or are far too hopeful...

I sometimes get the feeling some newcomers to Bitcoin don't understand that the difficulty will exponentially increase.

Based on what they're going for I'm tempted to put mine up with a really high reserve and see what happens.

These ASICs generate BTC, not USD. I've been saying for a while now, I wouldn't sell my preorders for less than 200BTC, as thats what I can expect to make within a reasonable amount of time. That is independent of the fact that BTC is now ~$75. If BTC was $20, it would still be worth 200BTC.

That might be a very cheap price if the price of BTC keeps going up at this rate.

11914 ($14k) and 12218 ($12.1k) were my auctions, and the winning bidder never got back to me.  I don't know why someone's trying to prevent these from selling, but it's somewhat annoying.

this is bizarre reasoning to me, but maybe it makes sense to people that grew up with some million dollar trust fund

LOL I don't have a million dollar trust fund, or anywhere close to it! I'm 24, trying to pay off student loans, and looking at buying my first house. I eat PB&Js for lunch cuz they're cheap. However, there is some financial reasoning here, even if you don't see it:

These are expected to earn BTC. At today's difficulty, that's ~4.5BTC/day. If the price was $10, that's on $45/day. With the price currently at $89, that's $400/day. Can you see how the increase in the price of BTC affects the increase of the price of these hardware pre-orders?

If you don't understand this, I will gladly buy your early-date pre-order for what you paid for it: $1300.

The price of BTC will fluctuate so if you buy a rig that mines 4.5BTC/day and the price of BTC falls to $30... Can you see how the price of BTC makes paying $10,000 USD today for a machine you MIGHT get 3-6 months from now a real losing idea.

If you don't understand this, I will gladly sell you MY early-date pre-order for what I DIDN'T pay for it: $500. ... and I will give you the same assurances all the eBayers give you like a nifty .jpg of some invoice for $1,300.

I'm glad this thread is still going. I'm sure you'll notice that today BFL announced a price doubling of all their units. Discuss.
