Welcome.  I'm of the Warren Buffett school of not giving away my money to charities that might very well waste it--or crowdfunding projects that might do the same.  Being on bitcointalk for 1.5 years has made me a bit paranoid.   If there was something I believed in,  I might donate a little, but I haven't looked at what's being done TBH.  Everyone needs money.  Good luck to you if you're going to do it.  Watch out for scammers.

I generally go with less than 0.001 for most projects unless I know their ins and outs.

Being on bitcointalk for 1.5 years has made me a bit paranoid.

No kidding. With even some of the more trusted ended up scamming there's no way people wouldn't take precautions.

Saying the truth I do not trust these charity organizations that accepts (only) bitcoin, I would participate on projects like in kickstarter when a part of the money goes to the company to develop their product(s) and the other goes purchasing that product or at least I would receive a gift from them.

Sorry, but this looks like a rather blatant attempt to gather information on how to best extract funds from the community. It doesn't sound like someone who has good ideas or who is interested in providing a working product.

In general I do not invest in ideas from random strangers without extremely convincing references of prior work, a very good and convincing business plan with thorough financial planning and proof of a really superior skill set. Even in this case I would only invest very small amounts.

People that ask for money just to do some programming work represent the exact opposite of an investment case. An aspiring entrepreneur can be expected to work on his own project without pay. After all, even a brilliant project like Bitcoin came into existence without funding.

I usually support projects that revolve around bitcoin security and making bitcoin easier to user for the novice.  and when i say security i dont mean blockchain security i mean, security around user habits and protection of private keys.

I have not come to this forum to scam people, I want to make something and work for my pay and of course show proof of it!
I am not asking people to donate to me!
Just wanted to know which projects would be/are useful/interesting for the bitcoin community?
Still thanks for your opinion I respect it!

I think you will be having a hard time in completing your plan. As you have mentioned, many members here already experienced to be scammed and it would be really hard to trust anyone who has a project to invest in. I think you must gain trust first here, because if not, I don't think many users will support your project. Even if you are not new to bitcoin anymore, you are still new here in the forum and based on my observation, most of the users (I don't know the others) do not trust newbies.

This is a great example of the paranoia that goes on here.  I don't know what it is with bitcoin, but it just attracts scammers from all over the world, and they fill up and get stuck in every little crack and crevice of our world.  I think Longbob has a good approach, just donating a very small amount.  But that's if you have sufficient proof of the project not being a scam.

Welcome to the forum. In this forum there are 4 types of people:

People who don't have a signature campaign and post to provide people with relevant info about Bitcoin. 2%

People who have a signature campaign and post to provide people with relevant info about Bitcoin. 33% (like me Smiley)

People who have a signature campaign and post to get money through it. In other words, they don't care about the information they provide. 50%

Farmers who make 10 accounts at a time and spam to develop these accounts and sell them after a while. 15%

So you can see the majority are people who don't really care about the forum. Therefore, I don't find any point in donating Bitcoin to the forum.

There are bitcoin freelance sites out there, there aren't many people on here looking for workers. If there are, there are only small or dust-paying jobs. I'd just use google to find jobs.

If its bitcoin related, it is very difficult to convince people to invest specially because of all the scams that have happened in the past.

I understand that people where scamed a lot but if the project is backed up with some proof what would the bitcoin community be interested in?
And what kind of proof should be provided that would satisfy investors/donators?

Proof for what ? I guess you will have to be a citizen of a gambling allowing country and have to reveal your identity. Apart from that, you can consider doing multisig with a Very trusted member of the forum.

You may see lots of ICO is collecting huge amount of bitcoin on crowdfunding if they can provide unique solution which should be decentralized one. If you are good at programming than make a group and look at how you can decentralize cloud storage, hosting, bitcoin exchange platform etc. Decentralize exchange will be high in demand, you can look at another decentralize exchanger startup https://bitsquare.io/ to get idea.

Because the decentralized exchanges just filling with bit square.io I can say that still has a good chance for join in there. we always need a new breakthrough. especially for the people is always losing their money in centralized exchange.

Hi I am pretty new to this forum but have some programing skils and would like to know in which kind of projects the community would invest and is interested in?
Also I am not new to bitcoin, just to bitcointalk.

Thank you in advance for all of your answers!

best regards
BitPython

if you are looking for making some money just by starting the most interesting project and receiving "donations" then you are out of luck.
also if you want to make a project and sell it for bitcoin, again you are out of luck.

for both you will need a long history and trust to work with, nobody is going to give money to a random guy on the internet or buy his apps without knowing him.

but if money is not your main goal, then you have come to the right place. and you may get some donations, funding in a couple of years.

There are bitcoin freelance sites out there, there aren't many people on here looking for workers. If there are, there are only small or dust-paying jobs. I'd just use google to find jobs.

Where did you get those numbers? I don't believe a word coming out of that keyboard of yours. Utter garbage. Not even on topic!

Just click on the little ignore button, if these negative posters piss you off, I do it all the time. ^smile^ OP, back to your topic, create a killer game to match PokeMon GO, but just a Bitcoin version, and you will surely get some funding from a lot of people.

PokeMon GO is trending at the moment, so you might want to strike while the iron is hot. ^enjoy^

Finally someone with some answers! Thanks for the nice addvice. Smiley

I think that the bitcoin community needs to be a little more helpfull to new users and not atacking them for just asking questions.

More users would join and bitcoin addoption would be much faster I think!

I did not say they should invest their BTC in projects, just show support to other people and developers give them ides and help develop Bitcoin.

Sure there are and where a lot of scams in Bitcoin, but is this the reason to fud and say that every new account is a scam??

usually i would donate to charity only, to help someone somewhere, as i don't think that other options are that good as this one, and i wouldn't donate more than 0,2  bitcoin

well the says goes this way watchout for scam...though i will suggest either donating or invest on a trustful firm or source..cause they are scamms every where...but if one can wisely search for the one which is trusful and go on...and before kickstarting any project, will be so observant as to the smooth running of it..before enging in it...
