Alright guys bear with me as I'm very new to BTC and Electrum. I have what I'm hoping will be a very simple question that you'll be able to help me with. How do I transfer BTC out of electrum and in turn into a bank account?

Ok, so you have never send any transaction? Just check few tube vids to see how BTC works. Sending/receiving ... then you are ready for next step.

the simple answer is: Sell them (detailed answer depends on on your location and also how much you want to trade)

eg. Localbitcoins - good service where you can find traders with same bank and make it really quick .. but buyers usually have min. amount to trade.
otherwise you need to use exchanges like Coinbase, Kraken etc.

Since banks do not accept bitcoin directly, the only way to get money in your bank account would be to sell them to people. This can be done through these forums, or a variety of services and exchanges available (recommended, lower chance of losing coins).

Just go to the send tab and send your coins to the address than the exchanges provides for you to deposit coins to. After several confirmations, the coins will be credited to your account and you can sell them for USD or EUR.

Be sure to check what the exchanges charge for a withdrawel though, some were extremely high a few years ago, others were very low (btc-e was like 80 dollars to withdraw.., while kraken was only 9 cent).

Good luck getting the coins transfered!
