This is cool but there has been tons of coverage on mainstream news tv in the past so this isn't a first. Hopefully people will see the growth and see the various companies accepting BTC and it will help continue to grow the market.

Best coverage ive seen yet in the UK. As a brit i can tell you the presenter of that show is an extremely aggressive interviewer normally, so for it to go that passively is huge!

Maybe he is just afraid he'll come over as an idiot if he criticizes something he doesn't fully understand? Doing that when something is going down is no problem for most people, when it's shining.. not so much. (Didnt stop Chris Duane though )

Could any TV pundit/commentator/interviewer/newscaster actually HAVE that level of self-awareness and intellectual integrity? Actually I rarely watch Newsnight. Can someone just tell me, is it Paxo or not?

Their bitcoin rep. came off very well, right away he came out with 5 or so key features of "why bitcoin", and continued to give sound answers.
Their "anti-bitcoin" guy came off as a complete muppet, who seemed like he probably learned about bitcoin from the intro of the show.
"uhhh, the price, is umm up, but it's not good ehhh...mumble...gold...hmmm...drugs?"
+1 for bitcoin

Just seen it. Yeah, Paxman, he's gotta be worth +$5 on the Mtgox price all on his own! And I don't think the 'anti-bitcoin' guy was a muppet. He made reasonable points, but Trace Mayer countered them effectively.

If anything I thought anti-bitcoin-guy had it written all over his face that he had a wallet full of them

$0.25 to $80 in 3 years should get just about anyone genuinely interested.

Paxman talking Bitcoin... I need to sit down!
Nice and balanced, though Trace definitely came out on top there.
