So what do you do when Bitcoin is overrun by a centralized mindset?

After putting a few feelers out there it is obvious what you will do.

You will follow the status quo and do nothing to flush out the sickness.

Sometimes when you are infected you must find an antibiotic.

One with superior conductivity.

Have you found it yet?

Find the volume because it is out there in the charts.

Find the hedge to survive or risk going down with a sinking ship.

So many are about to walk the plank.

Maybe then they can be together with their beloved squid for eternity.

The only possibility is suicide. I understand that most people aren't willing to do this so we need to create a reddit sub where we can arrange to slaughter each other. I'm willing to kill eleven Bitcoiners at which point I wish to be murdered by another one.

This is a rather poetic soliloquy;  more of a rant than a discussion.  Walking the plank is for mutineers and yet If we are all mutineers then certainly bitcoin collapse and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.  Walking the plank isn't the right metaphor.   Also the squid reference doesn't mean anything to landlubbers like myself.  You need to rethink your campaign with your target audience in mind.  I'm sure there are people on the forum who could help you with this for a fee... in Bitcoin of course.

Yeah that's a little weird.  Also killing others is considered homicide.  I'm sure there are others on this forum who could help you... you know the rest.

Bitcoin is looking good and there are no other cryptos worth moving your BTC to. Mining will get better soon with western business coming in the game (like McAfee)

These are your own words. That's what YOU would do, or so it seems. You cannot generally apply a rule.

For now, eastern countries have way better energy costs. Unless western countries (like the USA) bet even more on renewable energies, they will not be able to match hashrates and infrastructures found on the East.

Bitcoin will never be overrun by a centralized mindset because its miners are dispersed all over the world. Maybe China dominates mining, but there are miners in western countries, and there always will be. As long as mining is a worldwide activity no centralized mindset can control it.

I agree. However China seems to control quite a bit of hashrate. I'd like to see competitive energy rates elsewhere too.

to me no mind set can control bitcoin, as bitcoin is a universal currency and not a local one, you can see the users of bitcoin from all over the world, and same is the case of miners of bitcoin now people from all over the world are involving in mining bitcoin therefor it is not possible to control bitcoin by centralize mind set.

Easy, Fork it

when the few try to take control of bitcoin, have the many make a fork so that bitcoin is decentralized again.

bitcoin is designed to empower the masses, if anyone takes too much control of it, no one stops us from making a fork or switching to an altcoin.

bitcoin cannot be control y centralized mindset because it is a universal currency, it will thinking that the chinies are controlling bitcoi but to me it is not possible because bitcoin is spread in all over the world and not in some region therefore no one can control bitcoin.

Is it possible? for a making a domination between the miners with another miner. until the western miner is not extinct will become a balanced equilibrium for the eastern miner.

I also agree that the miners will soon be improving.  With technology improving as fast as it is, there will be miners which will soon make the current miners look like dung on the floor.  The issue when this happens, is that only larger companies will be able to have the miners, for one miner will range in the $20,000 to $50,000 range.

I'm very curious to see how this pans out. I don't see how they can possibly compete and I can't imagine someone like that is going to mine for benevolent reasons. There's a reason why mining has congregated in the East and no amount of bluster and gloss is going to change it.

I find it really interesting the perceived shift for bitcoin users from original holders to the current make a quick buck users.
If you where to believe this forum, you would think that the majority are now in it for the profit and that would spell the doom for bitcoin. But if we really think about this we know that the ole timers are still around holding, just not involved in the day to day of this forum.
If I had a established amount of bitcoins I would be saying very little as well. One it makes you a target and the other invites flood of people asking for handouts. You could write a indepth response and have it buried by three pages of people saying "I think"!

The state of bitcoin is still good if we can back these idiots off that want to control it for personal gain. Or the ones wanting to hand their nuts over to the goverment for the same reason. Its really startling how lemming like the quick profit crowd can come off.

Rambling aside I think its not all bad and we will get through it.

You're forgetting the other strong likelihood, our mythical sleeping Bitcoin giants blew them/lost them/were eaten by Gox's death.

I think a lot of original Bitcoin whales fell by the wayside early on. We just don't know about it.

Maybe but always keep in mind that the cartelization of Bitcoin mining is happening right now. If you think this to be impossible then I would say that you are being naive. People are people and it is in our very nature to want to gain control of something and have some power over it. What is stopping the top Bitcoin miners from talking with each other to help steer their agenda and self interests?

If such a thing happens then I might just pack it up and move on, and let those with the actual power to fix it, fix it. I'm simply not in a good enough or powerful enough position for me to do anything, and thus it really doesn't mean much for me to do anything. The bigger voices can decide a lot of what happens. I just don't really care.

If bitcoin is really owned by a centralized mindset,i will leave it and buy some other altcoin.

Other altcoins might be more centralized than bitcoin. Sad

Maybe i will leave the cryptocurrency community.
