It highly depend on where are you located. Some places have different laws and almost every country has their own 'national' bitcoin exchange.
Plus, we need to know if you want to purchase bitcoin anonymously, or - easier way - use standard exchange linked to your bank account.

You want to use Bank Transfer, Debit/Credit Card other means of payment, something else?

I am exchanging my bitcoin earnings on YoBit. I think it's the best site for such operations. They do it fast and the percent for cashing out just 2% and it is suits me the most. I recommend you to try this exchanger, think you will like it. Tell us later what was your decision and which site for exchanging you liked the most.

As has been said, it depends where you are and how you want to pay.  From the Eurozone I'm a big fan of Kraken, since they receive my euro bank transfer by the next day without any fees to receive euros and their EUR/BTC rate tends to reflect the market value very well.  However Kraken charges to receive UK pound sterling, so from the UK Bittylicious is a nice choice because it's easy and instant, even though their exchange rate isn't as favourable.

Ive found somewhere that seems like an ideal place for me to buy, but it wouldnt be anonymous, is it just as simple as putting through the shaker tool in your profile then sending to my wallet?

If you want to buy, it's best to try localbitcoins, circle, or coinbase. If you just want free bitcoins, you can get them from faucets, but it will be very small amounts and is not really worth the time unless you are only trying to learn about bitcoin.

Are you interested in buying like 1 or 1/2 of BTC or some smaller amounts? ifyou're interested in smaller amounts go to the exchange section of the forum and you can find deals that users are offering here.

Need some spare btc for a new PC that can at least run Adobe Dreamweaver.

Circle and Coinbase are great! Easy to use, US based and safe. I think you can convert BTC to USD instantly on Circle. Coinbase takes a few days to complete a transaction, they likely control withdrawals to minimize their risk.

There are different exchanges according to the place where you live as for me btcxindia exchange is the best exchange for me to buy bitcoins in my country. So you should look for reputed exchanges that are available at your place.
You can try localbitcoins which is accepted world wide and is a good and trusted place to buy bitcoins for yourself.

Having different wallets is always recommended, you can install Electrum and Multibit HD in both your desktop and laptop and you have 4 different wallets this way. You cannot remain anonymous when buying or selling via an exchange as they have your email address regarding Skrill or Paypal and in your case even better your bank account. However you can choose to mix the coins after you receive them in one of your wallets and receive the clean coins in another wallet of yours. This way you retain back your anonymity.

You can be anonymous if you are buying bitcoins some body pesonally here on this forum but still you will have to pay him with your bank account so there is no way to be anonymous when you are buying the bitcoins.
But why want to be anonymous buying bitcoins because after that if you use it for gambling sending to any other person then you will be totally anonymous.

Buying is very easy due to the introduction of lots and lots of trading as well bitcoin exchange websites. Also purchasing through forum is also possible. So upon the convenience newbie needs to select the possible method.

You can exchange with me as i have several positive experiences with other members here for btc.

Just looking for a better option for the exchange method of payments.  Undecided

If you can suggest who I can deal with as a payment processor I would more than happily agree to exchange with that method. Smiley

Just don't mention paypal because they do cause alot of hassles with bitcoin exchanges. Roll Eyes

I also do a local exchanger to sell and buy a bitcoin, because it really has been reliable from the start address of the company, the founders are often active on facebook. so easy and secure to transact in large amounts.

I use a local exchange, but if you do not believe you can buy a bitcoin in localbitcoins.com that so far I think the safest place to transact.
