I put in about $4000 USD overall (combination of mining equipment & bitcoin purchases in 2011/2012).
A couple grand here invested in mining gear still chugging away. No use crying over spilled milk thinking how much every coin you mined would be worth today. Better to think about the next goal or way to make money! if i dwelt on evey time i should have held instead of sold my list would be endless. From collectibles, antiques, precious metals, stocks, etc... Any profit is good. Just keep trying. And sometimes selling was hugely smart. One never knows.

I have invested a net of -$100, and I am a turbo-bull in the long term, flopping bear/bull on an hourly rate.

I never sold any coins until recently during the run up, but I'm thrilled with both the profit I currently have as well as the number of coins I'm holding on to long term.

I was not referring to you. I was just talking out loud. I should have not quoted you.

Are we talking how much money we put in, or how much money it's worth now?
Big difference there I think this poll refers to how much money everyone has put in But isn't the decision to not cash out at $88 the financial equivalent to buying at $88? I see no difference there Sigg I used same logic, as there was no negative cost basis (I have more fiat now than when i started, and a chunk of coins stashed away). I voted for the market value now. e.g. If I sold up I would have that amont of dollars, but Instead I choose to keep that amount of dollars in BTC

Nearly $3k
Bought in at 9, 15 and 38 on the first bubble, kind of hurt when that slipped away suddenly.
Then due to bad trading and a few little cash outs, I'm a bit over double my investment as it stands

Now if we all calc how much time we spent dorking around with bitcoins compared to profit i imagine i have made about 1.20 an hour :-)

Heh, I think that's a hugely optimistic figure...

Invested between 9k and 15k in mining and buying BTC !
Both are good investment so far. Using BTC for goods and service, very little hoarding, no regrets !

A) is it the present value of your bitcoins? B) is it how much you put in initially ? C) is it how much you put in - what you cashed out? D) ...

Bought $40 worth as a one time thing (or so I thought.) I wanted use it to pay a bill when offered a 20% discount for using bitcoin. Now I'm in for $400 and will buy more. You can thank Bytesized Hosting for luring unsuspecting Bitcoin addicts into the fold.
