Hi,
I'm new to electrum and am completely confused by what has happened. I created an electrum wallet. I then purchased 0.1 btc from bittylicious. The [Suspicious link removed]ived in my wallet within minutes, so far so good. I then proceeded to send 0.0686 btc to a marketplace to make a purchase using the marketplace wallet address given which I copied and pasted into the "pay to" box in my wallet. I then entered the amount to be sent and description then clicked send. Bizarrely, the btc did not arrive in the vendors wallet. On checking I can see that electrum sent 0.1816 instead of 0.0686. I truly do not know why this happened as I double checked the amount. Further, It turns out that 0.1816 is too small an amount to be deposited in the vendors wallet.
My questions are: Did I do something wrong as I am a newbie to electrum? Further, it is possible to retrieve the 0.01816 btc or is that lost to the ether? I have used bitcoin twice before without problems, but this is the first time I'm using a desktop wallet. Can anyone help me out here, I would be most grateful, thanks in advance.
Incidentally I can see a balance of 99.8184 in my wallet.
If i understand you correctly, you did send 0.01816
BTC, but the vendor has a rule which states he only accept bigger inputs. In reality, you have sent 0.01816, his software just doesn't recognizes this input because it's to small.
If this is the case, you can try to ask the vendor for 0.01816
BTC, provide the txid. It's up to him wether or not he'll refund you tough (BTC is irreversible, so it's up to his/her goodwill).
If i misunderstood the situation, it would help if you posted a txid (open electrum -> go to the history tab -> right click on the transaction -> copy ID to clipboard -> paste the txid in this thread)
