I see many accounts were hacked so I wonder why bitcointalk forum doesn't use 2 step verification like others to protect our accounts  Angry

The forum is based on an older version of SMF (specifically, 1.1.19 as can be seen in the bottom center of your screen). A new version of the forum has been in development for quite some time now, and it would be a waste of resources to implement 2FA here now. This is the link to the Beta version of the new forum, alternatively you can follow the development here.

I'd say that a good part of those accounts get hacked due to the leak during the previous forum hack (as some have no changed their passwords and whatnot).

Good suggestion.I hope 2FA is implemented on new forum. Not only will it prevent hacking of users account but also curb the menace of multiple accounts

No. This isn't any kind of suggestion from my side. 2FA was planned for the forum long ago, as can be seen in the Current requirements thread (Google Docs link).

No. It will not affect the usage of multiple accounts.

How do I go about account migration to the new bitcointalk forum?

I just came across this post and tried to log into the beta version.  The news/about us/ help buttons at the bottom don't do anything, do I have to re-register, or it it a slice of the real forum and will be dumped after testing?

Thanks for reading.
