Censoring the God given right of expression is a very serious crime.
One thing that is let to be determined is how much the Chinese gov is paying the Clinton foundation to demonize Russia in the west. This is one could have serious consequences...

They not content to oppress their own people, oppress any people where they go.
This is exactly what I fear. How they intend to spread their way of governance worldwide. How they support Clinton (I am sure that they contributed to the foundation). And how I never heard Chinese speaking about peace or self-determination. O words on a peaceful solution in Ukraine. Total support for Assad... (Not because they feared an Islamic state ready to attack them like the Russians) but simply because they oppose all form of self-governance to anyone. How they support Iran and want to spread so called peaceful nuclear technologies. Their will to censor Internet and which role they will play once icann isn't American anymore. Their active participations in a lot of destabilization in Africa to extract what ever without any regards for the environment. Yeah like you said a certain contempt for life in general... Finally contrary to Russia they are still communists (what ever it may mean in China).

You say that because you think that the government of china is a dictator? China is not a dictatorship, as they do not have a dictator. They are an authoritarian regime, with a not so elected government that tells its people what to do, and does not have to worry about elections kicking them out.

My theory is that in terms of material comforts, the rule of the CCP since Deng Xiaoping was probably the best for 'the people.' More abstract ideas about 'liberty' and what-not are not as highly valued as in other systems. Russell put his finger on it when he said that the people will be happy because the leaders tell them they are. Many (but not all) mainlanders I know are fairly stead-fast in the basic belief that 'liberty' and 'freedom' are actually negatives. Interestingly, many of the 'regressive left' Westerners I know are 'coming around' to seeing things this way as well.
Anyway, what was yesterday will not be tomorrow. The Chinese people are living 'high' on borrowed time. They are the beneficiaries of 'globalistic' transfers of wealth and content under this rising tide mainly because their fairly recent past has been so awful. The 1,300,000,000 souls will undergo a plateau and steep plunge down the other side with the next global monetary re-implementation except...
...the globalists who've been using the nation as a plaint workshop and testing ground will depopulate it as severely as any other, and I'll bet that it will be with as much cooperation from the CCP as has been the case during the build-up.

I know from my personal conversations that a decent fraction of mainland Chinese support their government's stance on these kinds of things for the protection of society at large. Or at least the perception of this (which is in my opinion somewhat valid given the realpolitik.) My sense from my conversations is that this sentiment has been conditioned in from early childhood. I would ask those idiots why do you think most Chinese once wealthy enough send their kids outside?
Opportunity. Mostly an opportunity make more money. Many of the more wealthy Chinese are probably well aware of the desirability of diversifying in a general sense because of the multiple points of frailty of their society. China has more challenges than most. Even those individuals who do truly value freedom, liberty, etc, are probably and rightly terrified that it might actually happen. The transition toward a freer society is possible but a regression too.
...whatever that means. I'm guessing that China will see a regression but it will not compare to what is seen in the West. We simply have a lot farther to fall.

Lots of good points thanks for sharing. I think these drives toward liberty and freedom are an inherent part of being an human beings. Some are lost and become low durability biological drones... Or fall to the demons. However most chineses are good people, and you know without any warming one day, without anyone realizing it the cccp will fall. The good people of China will rise as they always have. Generally it get serious when the security apparatus joins. Fat pigs feasting vs risking your life... Sooner or later the best option become slaughtering the pigs while hoping not to become them. Remember what a Tunisian fruit trader has started isn't over... Shockwaves may get a slower frequency...
