We love to be Politically Correct but it *IS* a shock to some people seeing gay displays.
I get that for the simple reason that gay behavior is odd / unusual
AND that we culturally have only recently become more accepting of it in the public.
The truth is most people are not gay.
So what ever holds the majority must be deemed as "normal"
It's a quantifiable thing.
non-normal to me does not necessarily indicate "bad" either..

Peter Steel from the band "Type O Negative" was disgusted for example when he had gay male fans show up after his concerts with his naked "Play Girl" magazine pictures for him to sign.
This made him uncomfortable.. and i get it !
Yesterday i was reading on my local news web site a story..
An old man poured a giant pot of boiling water on two sleeping gay guys in his house.
He was an older guy who old world views the defense said..
He would say stuff to them like their behavior was not appropriate etc.
One of the gay guys was his wife's step son (plus his boy-friend) that was living with him.

One thing i have to say that goes against the grain here though is..
As a straight guy i have never been all sexually excited about watching lesbians.
I always considered them to be "competition"
I never fully understood why guys would be so happy to see Lesbians get sexual

Like a roll of the dice when you are born you *could* have been any color skin etc.
So i have no interest in treating people unfairly because of their skin color or sexual preferences.
But sometimes we need to acknowledge the difference and respect them.
Which does not mean treating everyone as white.
This would be insulting to many cultures.
Their differences can be respected.. because they are different !
Pretending they are not is often offensive.

One place that does not is parts of Africa where it is a legal crime to "be gay"
