This coin has been forgotten for 1+ year since the first ATH happened, it never close to the last peak. Now, in a matter of days, we have seen the ATH getting destroyed and we are at a price higher than ever before.
Why is this happening? Is there any solid reasons, or is just a "buy rumor sell news" scenario?
Do people in dark markets are willing to use XMR when they need to buy BTC to begin with? whats the point?
Any technological advancements in XMR that I have missed?
Why this pump? I may get in but man this has to correct with a dip. Also im scared this can start crashing and become stagnant again. At the end of the day BTC will keep getting more anonymous with further updates.

Not that we know of. I'm also skeptical about this sudden pump of XMR. I have few XMR several months ago when its price was yet about $.50 solve them when it reached $1.50 for it stayed in this price for so long and i thought I've gained substantial amount. so it is surprising to see how its going up without the news of technological advancement.

This is why im asking if XMR has done something about the problems they had when trying to scale their blockchain which was the heaviest blockchain in the market, for example. If this is all due some news about dark net markets im not sure if it will hold this price. Then again litecoin pumped 50 freaking dollars, so why cant XMR pump that high?

Some guys with deep pockets decided to give XMR a try - why are you so worried?
Trade while you can still make profit and forget about long term holding - at least for now.

Yeah as if it was that easy. Who knows if you are getting right at the top before the dump to continued stagnation begins?

I also see this possibility, XMR now have become a new coin to play with for whales and make profit. XMR may test ETH ATH (around 0.03 BTC ). But buying XMR right now is still risky and price can correct anytime.

same bunch of pumpers as ever. freaking fibercoin had a monster pump and that didn't have a functioning blockchain and was delisted a few weeks later. it's great for the xmr holders but this is one pump of many. no doubt it'll settle a bunch higher than before no matter what happens. this shit is getting a little too transparent.

Yeah but the thing is, when a coin that has good fundamentals and actual research and innovation is pumped, it may find a new floor and march towards higher prices. Look at ETH for example. Also Fibrecoin had shit volume, this pump has massive volume, so who knows if we are not going to 50 dollars.

yeah, it's definitely more of a realistic prospect than the other crap that's been pumped and it's not promising impossible stuff either. let's suck it and see.

Did you buy? I tempted to get in now and hope im not the idiot buying at the top. By looking at the data, it's not far fetched this could be a Litecoin tier pump. The supply and fundamentals are all there.

no. the pumpers don't care about fundamentals and there aren't enough crypto users for everyday stuff to make a long term difference. and my timing always sucks anyway.

If you look at the XMR/BTC chart accumulation started a couple of months before SIGAINT announced they had set up a public Monero node on Tor. You can see their announcement in this blog post. After the announcement traders started buying Monero and the pump began. I always thought Monero was undervalued. Now it looks like a base at .01 may be in.

Uh... second to the updated Bitcoin version, you mean? Because no coin is going to take the place of Bitcoin in any aspect of crypto. ... Just kidding.

anonymity is the key in DNM, so why use mixers if you can buy some monero? and dont forget this is just the first step, with the rise of monero we will see new ways to buy it.

Monero is pumping now because it took this long for the pump team or whale to get enough of a percentage of the coin from dumpers to make it worth it to pump it. What dumbass is buying now is my question?
