I sent these guys an email a while back suggesting they accept Bitcoins. :-)  I just noticed that they are now doing so.

If you like cigars they have them at an extremely fair prices.  They claim to sell Cubans which you can have shipped to the US.  I cannot speak to that, but the prices are lower than local shops.  Plus they are giving Bitcoin users a 5% discount!

Wat!!? On noes!!! Biz roooned!

Seriously though, that's cool. They're a decent vendor with legit product. They aren't my go to guys, but certainly in my 2nd tier, and if they have something I want I wouldn't hesitate to order from them. If you're looking for full boxes you should certainly try them out.

If looking for singles however, you'll find I'm competitive with the sites that sell those, so check my sig if you're in the market Smiley

After seeing what a request for them to accept Bitcoins did, I have spent the night sending out e-mails to other such vendors, like
- Online Cigar shops
- Online Wine vendors
- Over stocked, and a few other similar vendors
- Virtual workers.

I called out the treasury depart through the FinCEN ruling essentially accepted Bitcoins as legal to use in transactions, and that the current total value of Bitcoins is 1 Billion US Dollars.
I also noted that the cumminity is looking for ways to earn and spend their Bitcoins.

I figure if we ask politely, with the facts and in an encouraging way, like they are legal and there is 1,000,000,000 USD worth floating around, I think we may get some action.

I had thought about doing that with cigar vendors awhile ago. However the best use case there is for US residents who want to avoid a CC trail. I also figured most vendors would want to use Bitpay or whatever, and they have a point in their TOS about not using their service to circumvent laws or something along those lines, which this would fall under IMO, so I never got around to it. This was all well before the current run up that might make people more inclined to take BTC seriously.

At this point vendors have a chance to tap into a 1 Billion dollar market, who would not want to get a piece of that.  Using BitPay is cheaper than some of the alternatives.  CC have their place and will not go away.

I think given the FinCEN ruling and the size of the market, we will see a lot merchants umping on the ban wagon soon.

I got an email from these guys basically touting their acceptance and the advantages of BTC, and explaining how people can get some.

That email would have went out to a fairly large number of people in the cigar community I expect, which is pretty cool.
