Hello everyone!

I'm building LTC mining rig and have some questions.

1. Does LTC mining requires full PCIe x16 or it is bandwidth independent like BTC mining?
2. I plan to use two 6Gb 7990 card. Is 16Gb RAM enough for it?
3. What cpu vendor and chipset are preferred?

Thanks in advance.

1. 1x works just fine
2. Yes
3. I would go with Intel, but some people prefer AMD since they might be just a bit cheaper in the very low end of the product line. Chipset, something that has enough PCI-E lanes for you.

If you're buying cards purely to mine and won't be using them for gaming, then you could consider much cheaper cards but more of them. Ie 10x 7850s for a similar price but 2x [EDIT: based on theoretical pricing in the US].

More high-end cards have resale value though, very important.

Started a thread about making them here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=163306
