no matter how many fud is being spread in this forum, smart traders don't care at all. it doesn't have an impact on them because they know better. only rookies may get influenced by fud as they are already shaking on their legs without anything happening.

Can someone explain what FUD stands for?

I know it has something to do with people saying Bitcoin will fall in price.
"The sky is falling" posts are all probably from people with an agenda.
Trying to spread panic so people sell and they can pick up some cheap coins.

Fear Uncertainty Doubt or probably more often Facts U Dislike. One man's fud is another's straightforward truth.

Lately there hasbeen a lot of posts about the price going down.

Dont post 'fud' without a good reason for the fear. really there is a lot of investors and people with real money out there. they will not be pleased if you start posting 'fud' or bad information.

Thank you

If I would buy more coins before a price increase, I would say to everybody that it's time to sell.

I agree with you. I have seen quite a lot of posts with 'Fud'. Members who have a high status like Legendary or Hero member can have a good influence in investors ideas with Bitcoin.

Anyone who automatically adds more weight to someone's opinion just because they're a hero or legendary is an idiot. Go on who it is. Would you listen to Satoshi? I'd hope so. Would you listen to me? You should not. The only thing I have over a junior member is that I've been posting shite for longer than them.

Yeah, no shit to that. The only thing I'm legendary at is losing out on shitcoin pumps and trading bitcoin poorly. However, I'm still kicking around here which means I haven't lost my ass - a lot more than I can say for most.

Look at the bright side: You can buy cheaper Bitcoin, and you can play with alts, since usually some alts pump go up when BTC goes down. ETC is looking good.
How if our funds still in form of bitcoin,i guess this fud is ain't funny for us,spreading fear through unreasonable opinion is such a bad thing,a price falling will always bad for bitcoin but not for traders

Sticking around for long enough counts for a little something. At least the oldies have seen more. However that also means there's a considerably higher possibility of them being insane, bitter and filled with bizarro grudges too. I'm not sure too much crypto is very good for one's mental health or faith in humanity.

For me the last 2.5 years it's beaten the hell out of tv, and how many hobbies make money? I'm up about $20k, in usd and btc, but it's heartbreaking when I think of how much I could be up if I hadn't dumped so many coins before their pumps. The same fear of loss that has kept me in the black has also kept me from riches.

Fudsters have always been a part of the scene - at least ever since I began in bitcoin. They will always be spreading their fud whatever the price. The people who seem to be influenced the most by the fudsters are the weak hands and who needs them anyways. I'm sure the traders love when weak hands sell due to the fud. For the rest of us like myself, fudsters are pretty much a nonfactor. If anything, I find fudsters quite amusing actually.

it is in fact part of their business. I've seen post in the past about a user hiring some trolls and its purpose is to spread FUD.  It has been proven to be a good way to spread fears and make these users earn more as well.  They do have some strategy so its better to just investigate on your own whether to believe what they are saying or not.

this has been the story of this board for as long as this board has existed. and there is nothing anybody can do about FUD, although most of the brand new accounts posting FUD crap will get nuked by a mod but there are still legendary members like kokduck Wink who spread their FUD.
we have to learn not to listen to them and never feed them by commenting.

There has always been FUD being spammed through this forum, even back when I was just starting out I would see a ton of FUD being spammed by either trolls or shills and none of this has really changed all that much. There are people who will just do this and muck around with it for one reason or another, and you just have to be able to figure out who they are and be able to ignore them.

I think bitcoin ecosystem is well stable than in past with $9 billion+ marketcap now. So i don't think FUDS can actually dump the price, but if the recent event like bitfinex hack and similar keep on happening than it may become really bad for price stability.

I couldn't care about the "whales" and how they feel about the fudsters. They need us more than we need them. They are the ones amplifying the fear, uncertainty and doubts, so they can buy on the dip and sell on the high. Me, I make money either way, just like the boss.

hacks like that with such a big size happen rarely. so it is nothing to worry about.
besides if you check out the effect of the hack and the dump you can see that the effect was somewhat big but only lasted for a very short time and bitcoin price went back up fast. and now we are only around 4-5% below the pre-hack price of $600

This has always been happening. Even when the price was high, people said it would reach $200 and now it's still not profitable for many to sell their coins. By now, investors must have already been informed about which sources to trust and which are fake. There were reports that suggested the price to reach $400 but fortunately it did not happen. I had already stopped buying coins when the price reached $630.

Its funny how often someone makes a new account just to post "OMG Bitcoin going to be worthless the sky is falling sell now B4Its2Late!"

I actually wonder what is the motivation for someone doing this.
I don't know if they do it just because they are trying to troll people, or if its someone with enough money to actually make a profit if a panic dump happens.

i guess they're just trolling, the FUD won't give affect so much except there's strong reason behind the FUD ,for example when bitfinex get hacked
it's really hard to affect people without strong reason, and don't think the one who done the FUD having that much money lol

Some say it's going to rise, some say it's going to fall. It all depends on what he other wants you to know or do.
Some succeed to fool you into that, some fail - meaning you do the opposite - and most are ignored.

And basically all are right and all are wrong, because the market goes up and down and up again and down again.
The ones skilled will trade and get big gains. The ones less skilled will trade and lose. And most of us just keep the few satoshi or Bitcoin we have for much better days, whether the speculators tell to sell or buy.
