One of my main atm locations,the guys there are pretty good and helped me out with my first purchase.
The coffee chain they are located in has quite a few bitcoin atms connected to them now,but still need one closer to my location.
This ATM on Howe always confused me when I was reading about people needing hand scans and what not,they had it disabled from day one.

With no ID needed, I wish I wasn't located thousands of miles from Vancouver.  Anyone who likes BTC and would be near Vancouver should consider visiting the coffee shop and buying BIG if they like privacy...

Once, years ago, I used a BTC ATM in NYC that did not require ID either.  I'm sure that has changed.  Pity.

Well, I didn't need any ID when I visited and bought.  I bought twice that evening (the second time after visiting a regular ATM nearby for more Canadian dollars).  This was in late August (2016).

I do not recall the premium over "spot", but if I do not remember, it's probably because it was in the 9% - 14% range that seems to be rather common now.

I'll pay 14% more for non-traceable BTC...

I was actually living in Richmond, BC at the time and remember when it first launched and I also remember that Bitcoin was sitting at nearly 1k USD at the time and I went there and bought a little Bitcoin from the machine. It was kinda cool and trendy to do so lol.

I think with the beginning of next year we will have the first 1000 ATMs installed.
Until there it was a long long way.And installing several thousands more will take another few more years.Sure this could speed up with more and more adoption, so let's hope we will grow and progress as many of us expect.

I don't think that the price is that important. A Bitcoin ATM offers a lot of convenience, especially for casual users. If there would be an ATM near my place that would accept chump change I would be a weekly customer - even at a 20% markup.

Financial surveillance is a plague and Bitcoin ATMs requiring ID or even biometric identification should be avoided. I think the problem is most pronounced for two-way Bitcoin ATMs. In my view one-way Bitcoin ATMs (Fiat->BTC) are the most relevant use case, because people who want to sell their Bitcoin for debt-based government trash money can not be considered sane individuals. Such Bitcoin-only ATMs should allow exchange of reasonable amounts without any verification.

Several Bitcoin ATMs appeared recently in my country andw they are becoming more and more popular. Which us a good news. As far as I know for using them ID is not required and they are easy to use and customer friendly. They are placed in frequent part of cities so many foreign tourist use it also.

If you go back and look it was the first or one of the first rolled out at the time. Was for sure the first in Canada and was connected to Robocoin but the interesting issue was the KYC rules never where enforced. Was really confused when I was reading all the information that Americans where having to supply to transact and was kind of worried it might trickle into our usage as well,but never did. Those that attempt to,usually end up with ATMs that are not used much if at all.

The price is always tricky to pin down because we are converting from USD to CAD as well as cash to bitcoin. Find the fee is usually split between these two factors and more than I was expecting. But nothing so crazy that it is armed robbery,I enjoy being able to go in and do a transaction and then bounce around town and come back on my way out of downtown and grab my money. You can wait for one confirmation but I hate people staring at me wondering what I am up to.

I know that there is a place in Edmonton that has a Bitcoin ATM, and I think it is one of the entrances to the West Side mall now that I fire up my neurons a bit more. It was Robocoin, that I remember, however it was definitely too expensive when it came down to the fees and I don't think I'll ever really use it unless the fees go down considerably.
