Hi,

Can anyone advise the best place to buy coins (from the UK)?

I've been looking at mtgox.com but I'm having trouble adding funds from a HSBC account.

Any others?

Since this is a bitcoin forum, I'll give you a few places.

Mtgox.com  <--- Is the major exchange, transferring money here can be tricky the first time.
Coinbase.com  <--- Is kind of broken, do not use this.
btcquick.com   <--- Seems good, but they are out of BTC.

If you want them NOW, you may have to use OTC.

The list goes on.

I have never bought / sell ... but looking at that link ... he makes 30% just being the middle man. He buys at -15%, sells at +15%. I think that's totally unreasonable. Well, at least I don't think MtGox charges that much or any other exchanges for that matter.
In addition, it's craigslist ... I would be really be careful.

I hope you don't fall into the hype of record prices. And if you are into btc for the long term, what's another few days over the normal verified / trusted exchanges.

Like I said, I have never traded, so I'm not "encouraging" you to go one way or the other. Plus, it's your $$; do what floats your boat with it.

All paid signature campaigns should be banned.

There are many small exchanges, I like https://bitfloor.com and https://www.bitfinex.com

Easy to set up, pretty easy to fund.

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!

Mt. Gox, BitInstant and similar sites charge around a 4% fee for cash into site.  The plus side it is almost immediate or within the hour.
