Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Is it the bitcoin foundation?
If I remember all of this correctly this forum is owned/run by a person named Theymos, or at least it is now, and it was started basically back during Bitcoin's inception. I could be wrong but that is the only name sticking out to me, and I am sure he is at least a decently high-up staff member.

Is it the bitcoin foundation?

forum was founded by Satoshi and Sirius , Satoshi left as we all know , Sirius is a staff member but not that active (he controls bitcoin.org domain too I guess), forum is now controlled by theymos ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=35) as you can see from his UID (35)  he was one of the first members and there is also BadBear which is an administrator as well. and no , Bitcoin foundation have no control over the forums.

the domain name is in the possession of Sirius (Martti Malmi)
but it was founded by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2009 and if i am not mistaken it was hosted on sourceforge(?) and then moved to this current state you are seeing back in the days. and Theymos is the Administrator of it.
all the information is available with a simple google search Smiley

p,s, move your topic to Meta board

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Is it the bitcoin foundation?

No. The Bitcoin Foundation has nothing to do with the forum.

Both bitcoin.org and bitcointalk.org are owned by me and theymos, though I'm more active on the bitcoin.org project, and theymos is more active here.

Satoshi and Sirius used to be involved, but they're not active anymore.

This is another fact that I didn't know about the forum.
I checked the status of the bitcointalk domain and seems that the domain is renewed for additional 7 years last week, so this was done from you right?

I remember visiting this forum for the very first time, thinking it was just a random bitcoin forum. But in fact it has hold up so well the past years and I frankly do not know a bigger BTC community. Props to the owners anyways Wink

Since you and theymos own bitcointalk.org, why is it that your account only ranks as a Jr member instead of an administrator for example?

Or is it due to the fact that you only focus on bitcoin.org as you are more active there as you said?

Well I don't know about cobra, maybe I am hearing for the first time today but from his profile it seems that the account has been registered in 2014.
Below the nickname is clearly stated the Custom Title: "Bitcoin.org domain administrator"

I saw his name pop up months ago when cobra was trying to sell ad space on bitcoin.org, where I at first thought it was an impersonator since he was only a Jr member.

After a bit research it became clear he is not an impersonator at all, and indeed the person alongside theymos operating the domains.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

I'm not very active here, and theymos and other staff are running this forum very well, so I prefer to put my efforts into bitcoin.org.

Being a Jr member isn't so bad. It comes with some advantages, such as not having to deal with people messaging me about forum issues like I would if I were an administrator.

You could just click the link that Herbert2020 provided there.

Sirius founded the forum and still owns the domain name, so I would say that he owns it.

Yeah, of any of the forums that talk and take part in Bitcoin, this is one to be on.  Whether they be owners or contributors, the core members that made Bitcoin happen have been here, contributed here and still come around.  If you compare Satoshi to Bill Gates, you will know that the Bitcoin concept, the mechanics and coding and the methods that started the coin would still be just that if not for others that helped push with promotion, informing people and making the business of Bitcoin become big business.  Bill Gates would still be in a garage somewhere if not for Paul Allen.  Satoshi had a lot of help and those people are still around here.

Go to other forums too, but always keep this one around and visit.  The threads here are like the blockchain, they stretch all the way back to the beginning and whether they speak or not, those kinds of roots cannot do anything but help.  That is one of the things I love about Bitcoin, when my grandkids pay with BTC at the local store, they will be adding to the same blockchain that I work on.

No, not the bitcoin foundation. They're totally different people. Theymos owns and pretty much runs this forum, with BadBear. He then has a bunch of mods helping him. (Mrprep, Cyrus, Hilariousandco, etc.)

looking for a signature campaign, dm me for that
