Reassuring who? Yourself or the people you don't want to sell and keep damaging your position?

We definitely needed this. Too much newbies too fast to panic, who must learn some bitcoin 101 first. So some nice 20% jumps to slaughter those are helping.

Take note newbies. Buy into their hype, then get sacked like pieces of shit. That's the moto around here.

Exactly. Just another pump and dump. Same as 2011.

That's the only way to learn and grow a pair.

Although it's regrettable that a cartel of whales has decided to play pump and dump with bitcoin while it's young, the end effect is that everyone who does have the guts to hold on through the price swings will be rewarded for it. That makes them less prone to panic sell in the future.

So in the end bitcoin becomes a mature currency faster this way. It seems everything about bitcoin is on an accelerated growth schedule.

What a rude thread.

Anyway! We've had big selloffs into Mt. Gox lag several times in the past month, and the market almost immediately bounced back in all such cases that I can remember. (I'd use visual aids here, but BCC is down.)

That said, I'm perfectly fine with the price falling for a while. I've already made a good return on the moves of the past couple days - time to take a break and buy back the coins that went to profit-taking. Smiley

If there is something that will make Bitcoin succeed, it is growth of utility - greater quantity and variety of goods and services offered for BTC. If there is something that will make Bitcoin fail, it is the prevalence of users convinced that BTC is a magic box that will turn them into millionaires, and of the con-artists who have followed them here to devour them.

Looks like we are trying to bounce from 75. I think this one will take longer to recover from, but that it will be a healthy correction rather than the start of a crash.

Here's the chart I wanted.
