The poor countries should first develop their infrastructure, educational system, food distribution, availability of electricity, water, Internet etc.
Only after that, they can think or start to plan how to use Bitcoin.
In my opinion, such countries don't have full political, financial or economic freedom, so I don't think that they can accept Bitcoin, completely independent from other countries.
Any way, such countries have other priorities now to solve, and Bitcoin is surely not on their ''to do'' list.
I think the first thing would be for the rich countries to use their power and influence in exposing and helping to bring to book all those rulers from the poor countries, that have stacked their stolen wealth overseas. It stands to reason that, the plundering would have been minimal without the corporation of the rich countries. Just like IMF and World Bank, compels and monitor governments of some countries to implement their agreements, these things are possible if they put their legs down.

Leaving the poor countries to their fate and hoping someday, change would come is an illusion and takes the world further back to the stone age. What is the United Nations really all about in the first place - to mediate in wars that could have been avoided? Bitcoin is a pointer to probity and accountability and could check lots of loopholes those rouges use to siphon their country's wealth.

Even if at some country bitcoin will be very popular, or even want to go completely on cryptocurrency, then it still does not happen. Because there is a global financial services network.

Bitcoin cant help to some countries it can help only to increase number of online donations to poor pupils maybe because of low fees and fsat transactions which are really fast and the best.
I am very hard to imagine that all the talk about aid to poor countries via bitcoin. This is to give donations or other what that action should be carried out.

India is the best example right now for this thread. A lot of people got their gold and money seized because they had no proof of where the money comes from. Bitcoin might help some because they can buy Bitcoin with the money they own, but what will they do with it after that..? I guess they will ban Bitcoin too, I mean now you're not allowed there to own gold, you're not allowed to own old money, the new bank notes.. I guess over half of the population is now poor. Bitcoin cannot help a country in which the technology isn't even advanced enough and not many people can afford paying their electricity bills.
That's right. India the country of contrasts. The richest man is living there and there are many very poor people there as well. Exactly for such segment of people bitcoin can be really good help as work or even a business. In India there are many smart people and as I heard they are going to be the number one by bitcoin users soon.

Can Bitcoin or any other altcoin help poor countries?
how? what can be done?

Well Bitcoin is not created for really poor countries where the basic requirements are lacking, since bitcoin requires knowledge of computer and having access to computer and internet in a really poor country does not seem possible. Even if they get access to bitcoins where will they spend it?
Why do most people here assume that one needs a PC to use bitcoin?

I'm using bitcoin, making all transactions and work using my smartphone (except mining, obviously). I'm just using PC for some bitcoin related jobs like CoinTasker, writing on Bitcointalk.org or Trading. And Believe me, a lot of poor people in my country are buying Smartphones to surf the internet and discover the world of technology (Although, they don't even have something to eat!). So, in my opinion, I think they only lack the knowledge of knowing what bitcoin is.

When it comes to bitcoin reputation in my country, I can say that it's living in oblivion (something that I'm really grateful for, at the moment because our government is bloody stupid). So you are right. Even if the poor obtained the knowledge and basic requirements of bitcoin, they won't be able to spend it.

About technologies in poor countries probably do not need to talk. There's probably only the most advanced technologies in power, and it is their cars and homes. And everything else is misery.

India is generally one of the richest countries, despite the low standard of living and high poverty threshold. Just the number of rich people there are not small. But only a big business, and bitcoin can make the country and, most importantly its people live with prosperity.

I don't see that coming, maybe in a different basis and actually we can compared that with the exchange value of our currency in dollars and I believe when you are earning bitcoin online that would be a great help since the conversion is big from bitcoin to rupees.

Bitcoin can't help an entire country. but it can surely help the person who use bitcoin if he's poor. and if a country have a lot of bitcoin users then it will surely be beneficial and for that country.
bitcoin need some contribution. if you contribute with bitcoin and crypto currencies . they will reward you for sure. but if you think bitcoin should give you fortune without doing anything just because you are a poor person then keep dreaming.

You are correct, dude. Btc can help and improve poor people, in Africa, Asian countries. They can make bitcoin by solving captcha, posting and do social campaign. Although the money is not a lot, it still can help to improve their life.

True. Getting rich of the person depends on their efforts and strategy. There will be times that we need to focus on signature campaigns and trading to earn more. The last thing is to avoid gambling and scammers so we can really save or monitored our profits.

It is not a problem if those countries are not accepting bitcoin because they can just use exchange sites that are accepting bitcoins and converts it to paypal funds or other local currencies and they are the ones who will connect it to your local bank of course it is your duty to look for those banks. But it depends also on how the people will treat bitcoin as useful way of making them financially well.

Probably, bitcoin can only help a country if there are people able to afford and use technology as bitcoin is used only on internet and it does not have any physical existence, so if the people in a country are not even able to pay their electric bills then i wonder how they will use a technology like bitcoin.

I think millions of people in India use the Internet but they are still poor. So for those people Bitcoin for sure can be helpful.

And actually if to talk about those whose gold and money seized because they had no proof of where the money came from, I don't think those people are poor. Poor people don't have gold and lots of money about which they can't explain from where that came from.

I belong to India, and I think technological advancements are helping the lifestyle of the people but still due to having 1.30 billion population, it will take the corresponding time to see the change. The process of transformation of literacy, financial literacy, technology, generation is going on, and it might take comparatively longer than any other small countries. The current government is working for eradication of poverty and thus making some harsh decisions to deal with corruption because of it the one of the roots of anti-development, being optimistic I see a great picture of India in the year 2025.

Governments working on trying to decrease poverty is what they want you to believe, while in reality the opposite is happening. Poverty is a great tool for the governments to put a major group of people in one place where they can use them for whatever purpose at barely any cost. Without poverty, India isn't able to compete with other countries as multinationals can get things done for peanuts and sell it in wealthy countries with massive profits. That's how it works. If the government is really trying (big scale) to work on poverty, then it directly will also harm the government there as these multinationals simply move to another country with their business.

I agree government want full control and to do that they create proverty and make citizen be dependent in the government for everything.  It is no surprise Cheesy.  There are only few government that really cares for its citizen, and majority just want to make their citizen their puppets to earn more money for their own good.  So I doubt this kind of government will use any tools or means to elevate their citizens way of living.  And Bitcoin actually can't do anything unless a person or group of person utilize it to help build infrastracture or create job demands for this people to earn and they don't need to have pc or smartphone because an exchanger can help on this. Process would be goods sold in bitcoin, bitcoin converted to local currency, local currency be given to workers.
