Is it possible to buy ARRR on a decentralized exchange like the Komodo DEX?
All exchanges in my research that list ARRR or where you can trade the coin are central, such as CoinEx, Gate.io or FMFW.

What about Tradeogre?

Thanks, never heard of this exchange before.
I had to take a closer look at it, what I don't like about it is the big gap in the spreads and the low liquidity. I was hoping there would be one with less spread gaps and better liquidity.

It seems there haven't been any recent project updates on Bitcointalk, so I'll try to fill this gap a bit. First and foremost, you should know that the tokenomics of the KMD (Komodo) coin will be changing very soon. According to the official announcement, the next season (S8) is expected to start after October 3, 2024.

What does this mean for regular users and KMD holders?

According to KIP0002, the block subsidy will be reduced to 1 KMD. This change will decrease the yearly coin emissions to approximately 526,000 KMD, which should reduce market sell pressure and allow previously created coins to appreciate in value over time.

Additionally, KIP0003 introduces a new policy where notary nodes will burn transaction fees. The main goal of this change is to enhance KMD's tokenomics by creating a deflationary effect.

Lastly, KIP0004 outlines plans for KMD to transition from PoW to PoS, though this is scheduled for 2025/2026.

Exciting changes, aren't they?

p.s. All of these proposals were voted on by the Komodo Community. You can view the results of these votes here. Use the dropdown list "Select vote..." to see the vote options and variants for each proposal.

In addition to the Komodo Core Daemon updates, the Komodo Team has done incredible work on its flagship application, Komodo Wallet. Some users might have lost track of the development history, from where it all started to where it has led us today. For those interested, here's a brief overview:

After BarterDEX evolved into AtomicDEX, the development focus, beyond adding new blockchains and platforms for the wallet and atomic swaps, was to unify the functionality across all platforms. This effort resulted in the introduction of the mm2 application/library, which became the core of AtomicDEX across all platforms.

As a logical progression, AtomicDEX was rebranded to Komodo Wallet, and the mm2 core was renamed to the Komodo DeFi Framework (KDF), which is its current name. The KDF core is open source and powers all instances of Komodo Wallet, including the desktop and mobile applications, the web version, and more.

The KDF can handle various coins and platforms, serving as both a wallet and a decentralized exchange (DEX). It enables atomic swaps between different UTXO-based coins and even between EVM-based chains. Importantly, all of this is done natively, without the use of intermediate tokens or a "server part." It utilizes well-known HTLC atomic swaps, making it (one of the) best-known implementations of Atomic Swaps at this time.

However, KDF itself is a building block for developers; regular users should use the Komodo Wallet, which is available on most popular platforms and has both desktop and mobile versions. The web version also offers limited support for hardware wallets, such as Trezor, with Ledger support coming soon.
