I was reading this at Coindesk a few minutes ago and I thought I should share it with you guys. I thought I got their concept right when they first announced the launch of Brave but It seems like I didn't (after reading the comments in Coindesk) , so I'm still not sure If users who use the browser will get paid or the publishers of ads are the one who gets paid..

They block the ads in the website and then tip the sites according to how much you browse them. They tip the actual website, by sending them an email and asking for them to verify the ownership over the domain with a TXT record. but I don't think it's going to get so popular, because people can just use regular adblocks and never tip the website.

But for the users of the browser, i think that is very irrelevant in my minds but whether the browser in your picture is the brave browser? If that is correct I'm very like with their display.

There is no point for user to use brave browser instead of regular browsers, they don't earn to surf, they don't get complete rid of ads as brave browser themeselves will show their ads if you don't pay them and also not all site owner actually know about bitcoin/brave browser well to get payment from them. Regular browser with free adblocker plugin is enough for users.

I saw some tweets about this browser and was curious but after reading this it seems like a bit of a non issue, won't bother with it as ads don't really bother me enough to warrant using this.

I'm satisfied with Google Chrome with an Adblock Plus. I haven't had any problems with it.
For me it is the best browser ever created so far.
Get my point? A business can be successful if no one's ever done it before.

Lol, that's damn true, it is giving no sense to me too that we have to pay the websites with ads because we don't want to see them, but why would someone do that? As the mate mentioned above someone can have a adblocker for free that will do the work so why would someone pay anyone for getting rid of the ads?

Ok, So now you pay them, not to spam you with Ad's... what do they get out of that? They still need to advertise and if everyone blocks their Ad's

they will have zero sales and a bunch of money from this to do what with? I also thought they paid the users in micro payments, when they used this

browser. OK, so I also misunderstood this.  Huh

The website simply get tipped once a month, and the browser blocks the ads. so basically you get no ads (same as adblock in chrome) but the site still generates revenue because they get BTC micropayments. so everyone's happy, supposedly.

I thought that this system is something else - it will allow users to get money by browsing sites. It is not about tipping site as much as earning BTC by not blocking ads.
If what you said was the concept here then I don't see any reason why people should use Brave browser at all.

Yes, I'm thinking the same. Maybe Brave Browser is targeted at people, who feel somehow guilty of blocking ads and morally obliged to pay something to the site's operator. However that's likely only a very small group of users. From my point of view, blocking ads is not only an option, but a duty, because many ads are annoying, invade your privacy, or can even be a security risks. Also I don't see why in particular the websites in the list should receive donations - most of them are owned by big companies / foundations.

Even with an adblocker there are still ways to make money of a website by advertising. Instead of using the big ad networks you can still link affiliate shops for example. Or you can offer your own content/products for sale. As you have pointed out, I think Brave Browser would be successful if it paid for adviews. But the way it is I see no significant use case for it.

yeah i thought at one point i read that it was ment to pay the user to view ads Huh  which would make more sense, i get the whole support the website by paying them micropayments for there content, but has anyone mybe thought about the fact that users dont want to pay anymore and other ways to support yourself needs to be sought.....  i cant see this working in the long run.  i just tried it out and the browser is fine, but i also tried to watch a sports streaming site on brave and it just wouldnt work.......

Soo now we need to pay to the publishers that wanna get more clients to they dont waste their ads with our activity? Adsense the biggest program of advertising, offer us always something we had searched recently, even if we dont need it, soo now we need to pay to dont get our information matched for those ads?

is this browser sure? no virus/tracking inside? someone realy test it?

Yes that's the biggest problem it may infiltrate our system and steal private information from our computers. With this I prefer to use adblocker than to pay them to block ads. This is just a site wanting to earn bitcoins the easy way. But looking at it they will not last long in the industry. Ads are no problem so there is no need really to avail the services of that site.

i think it is safe because from what i remember from the first time i heard about this, it is based on the Mozilla Firefox and has the same developers

but even if the browser is safe and sure, there are still risks for letting a ad run if they don't monitor these things. the attacker can always exploit new holes in the browser, java,... and infect you.
