Monero the most profitable gpu coin atm ?

Monero is now the most profitable coin you can mine with gpu. Price has gone up 60% in 24hrs. Do you guys think price will stick ? Are you switching some of your hashing power to XMR ?

Difficulty already increased by 50%. I think that you won't get that much over ETH, and price might get down and push the profitability lower than ETH, with it's steady value over the time.

Difficulty has risen too much and you earn less mining Monero over ETC

If the price spikes again then you might be able to sell the coins and be slightly ahead of eth and etc.

The other issue with Monero is that it's not a good coin to mine with GPUs in the first place - seems to be much more efficient to mine with good CPUs.

A low-end GPU like the R7 370 gets ~400H/s.  What CPU will give you the same performance?  A G1840 only gets ~30H/s, so I doubt even a new Core-i7 would do any better than the 370.

On the claymore cpu miner he says the i7-4770 will get you like 280 h/s but that cpu costs over $300.

All low/mid to high end gpus will out perform cpus, but it just does not completely destroy cpu in the hash rates like they usually do.  But I wouldn't worry much about it since most everyone mines with gpu and the profit is similar to ethash coins.

pleasant secondary effect is the lower power consumption while mining Monero.
My R9 Nano's core power with ETH is around 145W per card, with XMR it drops down to 92W-94W (same clocks and Afterburner settings). Really not the badest thing here in pay-like-a-hog-roast-for-energy-Germany.

I have a GTX 950 and I havn't found any good estimations on how much mining power this will provide.
My power costs are pretty high here in the US, state of Michigan. (About 0.11/kwh)

Would I be totally wasting my time/ money at this point?
My CPU is pretty old, came out in 2009 and even though its overclocked to 3.2Ghz, its pretty outdated as far as everything else goes:

Do not wait for someone to reply you, that card isn't much used in mining. Just start ccminer and start a benchmark.

It seems that a AMD Opteron has very good Hashrates can somebody confirm this?
Is mining with a CPU better than with a GPU?

 I suppose I should try my pair on XMR sometime - they're only pulling about 10MH/s on ETH though that's at 75ish watts, which isn't bad for last-gen cards.



 Down side of the FX 8xxx and comparable Opterons that get higher hashrates is the power draw is also fairly high - comparable to most mid-range GPUs.
 Seems like Intel beats AMD hands-down on XMR mining, better AES-NI support or something.

If these numbers are indeed real life numbers, then it looks very good and I'd expect even bigger profit since XMR is on the rise again.
