Dude one day comes that price is around $6000 per coin if bitcoin stay the same with out any changing in the code of course because when something changes people start to having doubts and that is not good for trust.

It will eventually go sky-high once the rest of the world gets fed up with the financial system and they start to accept Bitcoin more compared to every other currency throughout the world, and that would only be achieved through the elimination of everyone's bank accounts and the funds within them (or at least a good portion, for some reason, such as government financial bailout). If something like that happens, expect for a LOT of people to start using alternative forms of payment exactly like Bitcoin.

Well, people scoffed and lol'ed back in the day when others speculated bitcoin price would reach such ridiculous highs of  $1, $10, $100, etc.

$5000 to happen this year is indeed beyond insane, but a new ATH this year isn't that realistic either... It would mean that the price needs to go up like 100% while I don't even believe the price will come close to $1000 this year.

It's hard to predict the price of bitcoin because bitcoin's value is pretty much based on demand and supply. We can keep arguing based on past price movements but that can't help to give an accurate prediction. But, generally speaking we can expect new users to adopt bitcoin and this gives hope for price hike. But at the same time, unexpected bad news such as hacks, rules and regulations, etc can bring down the price.

There are people who would like to bring down bitcoin at any cost and I think they will use any opportunity they get.

And about price movement based on the charts, it's healthy for bitcoin to get a correction from 1200 to 500 to 600 and now consolidating and waiting for another move. because if the price goes up with out a correction, it's deemed as bad as it can come crashing down in the same manner making bitcoin difficult to be adopted by more people as a means of exchange.

Four short years ago people said the exact same thing about $100, let alone anything higher. Look what's in place now in terms of infrastructure compared to back then.

Having said that 100 or 1000 can be achieved by a few thousand nutters with some passion. Beyond that it needs some real people to pile in and keep piling in. I can't see many signs of that on the horizon.

back then there were much less coins in circulation, plus there was a massive amount of hype as bitcoin made it to news channels world wide. the rising price attracted so many yolo investors that the price kept going up till the bubble exploded. don't forget the mtgox bots that were constantly buying up the price. we don't have all that right now.

I think this time the movement is very good and fast. the last few weeks bitcoin prices increased by 50 USD.
bitcoin now be in a position 630 USD. I'm sure at the end of the month bitcoin prices could be above 700 USD.
and the closing price at the end of the year is a 1K USD.

I would agree with you if not for the halving that just occurred. Because of that, don't assume more of the same.

1k mid 2017 is very possible. In fact, I think we might hit 1.5k by the next halving.

Honestly we would be in the 1k+ area by now or by November if the Bitfinex hack didn't happen.

Next halving will be after almost 4 years from now, so price may even hit $2k by that time or even higher. Yes it is quite sure that if bitfinex didn't have got hacked recently we may have already crossed $1k by now.

exactly, and when that happened the ATH before that was like $260 or so, and it was even like $30 in that very same year.

And then people call me retarded because they don't believe it will eventually happen again.

All while saying 'bitcoin will rise slowly, and in the next 10 years we will reach $2000'    

BITCOIN HAS NEVER INCREASED IN PRICE SLOWLY, WHY WOULD IT DO SO NOW. Seriously, look at the charts and show me one time we have reached the ATH by a slow rise.

Bitcoin has about 3 modes which it has historically shown:

1) Rocket, a few months of accelerating price increase. Which always result in prices that seems ridiculous just a few months before.
2) Fall. Usually a few months after 'rocket' mode, a sharp decrease in price, often followed by a few weeks of volatility.
3) Sideways. Long periods in between the above two modes, where the price doesn't increase or decrease by a lot.

We seem to be transitioning from mode 3 to mode 1.

so much speculation that people say, but the price I wait for the moment is when the bitcoin prices rose to $ 1,000, and it would be very good if bitcoin prices rise when the end of this year. most likely it will make a very significant impact in subsequent years. but, whatever was said, we can only see the end at the end of the year

Thats hwy we are in these  thread of  Speculation to state our opinion but its not right  to say something thats  beyond too far to happen. As we can see the bitcoin price as of on it even  can hardly surpass $700+ how much more on $5k on the end of the year which is  really unbelievable.

There are plenty of these kind of topics here. I have to say it make no sense to even think of such a figure while we win fact just encountered a huge drawback.
The price at this moment will become more stable because with the next halving so long away I don't expect any miracles in this regard.

$1000 for Bitcoin is 2013 was insane as well. I doubt that we will see any dramatic price shift until next halving in 2020.
Bitcoin would be sitting stable on $700 if not that Bitfinex hack.

The way the price reached the all time high back then so easily, has made a lot people think it's possible to happen once again.

They don't know how much money and effort is needed to get the price to reach $1000 again.

It's much better to focus on the price to increase per $100 at a time instead of directly speaking of a new all time high.
