I am taking a guess here, but reckon you are talking about the Alt coin, Monero.  Huh ..right. Well, there are currently a lot of people busy selling

Monero as the replacement for Bitcoin, because it's 100% anonymous according to them. Some people have no clue how small the hashing power

behind this is, and that is it's possible downfall. The drug community seem to be running Monero's way, so the price might go up more, as more

people fall for this false security.  Shocked

Monero have came into light after darknet marketplaces started to accept it like bitcoin. Price is already in its peak right now, so you better wait for a quick dump (if any) to buy and hold for longer term. Buying and holding for longer term, seem still profitable if no any flaw in their code is detected in near future.

Cryptonight is quite difficult to mine. So you cant just project ETH or BTC hash power into Cryptonight coins.

If you understand Proof of Work basics you would understand that miners will join mining coin that will be worth to mine, so hashing power will increase till there will be no other coins more profitable. That is first rule that gives security to all PoW coins.
So your worries are not needed. As much price will raise, more miners will mine and more expensive will be 51% attack.

Thanks guys for your reply.

yeah drug markets started to accept MONROE even promoting it.

as for that hash, like the gentlemen above me said, miners will mine what's wroth to mine. the hash power will grow when there will be a demand.

The hash rate for Monero is at or near an all-time high, and as another poster pointed out, Monero uses cryptonote, not SHA or Scrypt, so it's an apples-to-oranges comparison (not a good one) when comparing its hash rate to a non-cryptonote coin. More nodes are coming online, more people are using Monero, so that all means even more security.

As for investing, who knows. I obviously like Monero. Consider that the businesses which depend on privacy and untraceability have made their choice, and it's Monero. Also consider that when the GUI comes out (it could be months) the price will likely rise higher.

As always, do your own research. Here's a great place to start if you're looking for a privacy coin for the long term:

if you are talking about Monero (XMR) then I have to tell you, you are late to the party my friend. the rise happened and we all got lots of profit when it was hot. you should have listened back then not now.

but also I believe although this is super risky to invest now, there is still room for some more growth. but I emphasize again that it is a lot more riskier now to buy unless you are willing to take the risk and sell at a possible loss.

I can't agree with your second paragraph... It's not riskier now. MONROE (yeah i know, monero, just think MONROE is pretty funny, especially in capital letters) has an actual use case now, people will use it on DNM's because MONROE offers better privacy, better anonimity, is fungible...

While 'investing' in 2014 and 2015 meant you were buying a very speculative vehicle with little to no practical usability, all this changed when DNM's started accepting it. The hash-rate is going steadily up and the number of communicty-members is rising (rather fast I would say). Xmr existst for 2 years now and I think next year will be the year that MONROE will outgrow its infancy and be ready to really compete with the big boys...

Don't forget the dynamic blocksize and the tail emission, this is very important, it means that MONROE is technically better fit then bitcoin to do what it needs to do...

So no, it isn't riskier, it just got safer, maybe a rather large pullback in price right now, but in the long term I give MONROE lots less chance at failing then half a year ago...

best regards

I always been a retard, can't even spell the currency right.  as for our subject, the prices are real low for 1MONROE, it reminds me the bitcoin initial prices.

Question is, is it wroth converting a few BTC to MONROE and let it age?

whenever there is a sudden rise in an altcoin price you should either have bought that altcoin before the big rise or buy on the rise and hold it. and when we reach the top of that price it becomes harder to predict if it goes higher or stops there.

for example when price went to 0.018 i sold and took my profit but price started to go even higher to 0.021

as for potential, the coins like monero seem to be getting a lot of publicity these days which will help their rise and it is possible for further rises.

Monero indeed is secure and as many stated here, Monero's total hash power is pretty low but I disagree about this being a downfall in any way.

Currently, Ethereum and Ethereum Classic are the most profitable coins to mine which is why they are rocking the hash rate charts at the moment... But wait a minute and give this a deep thought:

What if the difficulty keeps increases for ETH and ETC and the price does not move? Like it or not, ETH/ETC difficulty is indeed increasing at a 10-15% every month. Now unless ETH/ETC rise in price, it is going to be less profitable to mine those coins.

What is the next most profitable coin to mine? Yes, MONERO is one of the coins that will be on the top profitable coins to mine.

So as time passes and putting the above speculations into mind, MONERO will catch miners' attention as miners (Including me) are always mining the most profitable coin regardless of anything else... MONERO will not only be more secure, but will have a hash rate pump and I am sure that this will reflect with a pump in its price too.

That's not always the case.. I was an early bitcoin investor back in the days when bitcoin was worth a couple of pennies. After a 1000% pump, I sold a large portion (Which I regret to this day since I had thousands of bitcoins) So no, it is never too late to invest in a coin that is going viral and endorsed by many new businesses... Follow your guts, and remember that patience is a virtue and most importantly "NEVER PANIC SELL"

I can relate, panic-sold a rather large stash of my btc when the mtgox-debacle happened... never fully recovered bitcoin-wise...

Learned a good lesson though: always remember why you've invested in an asset in the first place, if the fundamentals are good, the fundamentals are good... When you start to doubt, check your first analysis, if it's still correct, stay invested!

MONROE's fundamentals are outstanding, as long as that doesn't change I'm selling jack shit...

Monero is one of the high exchange value currency currently based on cryptonote algorithm. Cryptonote give more secure and untraceable transaction. So currently monero is the choice for darknet transactions.

In future monero will be great cryptocurrency. As well as it can be mine easily with own computer without having any costly hardware.

So as per law of p2p currency more user will bring more value in future for Monero.
