If its not in your wallet its not your LTC!

All you have is a virtual promise to give you some LTC later.  You may or may not get it

I only hold a very, very limited amount of LTC, but i keep it in electrum for litecoin. It's a HD wallet for litecoin, so you're in charge of your private keys, you only need a seedphrase to restore and you don't have to sync/verify...

If you hold a big chunc of LTC, the paper wallet is advisable tough.

HD wallet for litecoin? Do you have a link to that wallet? I need to export litecoin fund from paperwallet that don't have to sync the whole network

totally agree with clownius.

i think its a no brainer to store any crypto you're not directly trading/spending on your own devices (with any longterm investment amount in proper cold storage).

I want to buy some Litecoin for long-term investment but I dont installed any litecoin client wallet, where do you guys save most of your LTC?

i mostly keep them in my exchanger wallet, meaning i keep them on bittrex.com exchange site.

but i know that this is not such a good idea to keep them on a live exchange and it is risky but since i don't keep them for long, i have to take this risk.

but i did some research a while back and found out that there is a nice SPV wallet called Electrum-ltc which is exactly like the bitcoin version and you can use that to keep your litecoins safe.

Honestly , I don't have a Litcoin wallet , instead of that , if I got some LTC , I save them in one of my exchanges accounts , although I don't recommend this action , but I do that , because I hold them for short time , I use LTC only to reduce the transaction fees between my accounts .

for now, i only use wallet from market exchange and i use wallet from poloniex, but before that, i use multilite which is software and no need to install, just download the software, and then you can run it in your computer. but for now, i don't have litecoin anymore, maybe later i will buy some for long-term investment.

I stored my LTC in the litecoin core wallet. eventually I became way too lazy having to sync the blockchain, because having to sync the bitcoin core blockchain is already annoying enough. I ended up selling all of my ltc just to not worry about it.

Honestly all of my litecoin stocks is in any exchange site but its more LTC in my yobit account.. which is because i am doing also signature campaign and my funds in signature campaign will be redirect into altcoin for holding for a long time to increase the amount or to make a  profit.

I didn't install the litecoin client but i stored my litecoin in bittrex and other tradings site..
Almost a months a go its still there but sometimes few of my litecoins sold depends of the price increase or decrease of LTC.. and it is one of the good invest because this coins is living long in the market.

mt-gox was a well know exchange

In fact many well know exchanges have gone belly up for a variety of reasons........

Its never the guys running the exchange who lose all their coins............

Edit: I always keep any coins i own on an encrypted partition with redundancy on my own computer as well as an encrypted backup offsite

I lost about 10BTC once to mt-gox. I only sent it to the exchange to cash it out.  Four months later of trying to extract it as $$$ and in the end BTC they finally went belly up and that BTC is just gone in reality.  Although i still get emails regarding them from the liquidator i never expect to see them again.  The second btc (or any coin) leaves your wallet you only have a promise that someone will return it....
