Couple members of the Senate in Washington have discussed legal issues regarding the silk road to the attorney general's office. I'd say it's about time to step away.

I tried joining Silk Road after downloading Tor Browser, but the site seems to be avoiding new members. Why is that? Some posts (on the newbies) say that Silk Road reopened, others say there are users selling their user names/passwords. I wasn't able to join in just now, and have no clue on how to buy a "pass" to Silk Road, so could really use some help! Thanks a lot!  |

I suspect that depending on geography, GPS-referenced dead drops via couriers could be feasible (basically courier arrives at inconspicuous point A, drops and disguises package, records GPS coordinates and walks away, then the coordinates as recorded by courier are sent to customer along with a description of area with package, the client goes to the area and, using his GPS navigator, finds the package. BINGO  ) |

It's interesting to think about what options AG's and other authorities have to take down Silk Road.
It seems that the combination of Tor + Bitcoin makes it impossible to do anything more than stage sting operations, by having agents use the site to catch individual buyers or sellers. Tor makes it impossible to find anyone without doing that, even if the authorities got hold of the operators of Silk Road. Bitcoin makes it impossible for the seizure of any one person's computer - even an admin - to lead to the discovery of anyone else.

PO Box, Temporary Address, Virtual Office, friends house, neighbors. Anything can be obtained with a fake ID or no ID at all.
Most sellers dont even use real address for the return address anyways
