He's a newbie askin for a paypal exchange, isn't that a warning enough that he may have a so-not-clear intention?
Also, you are a newbie dealing wit a newbie, have you not considered using an escrow?
See this is why scammers are freely roaming the forum. Please be careful next time and be more cautious with money at stake. Even a small amount can fuel their hunger for stealing other peoples money. Do not encourage them by falling to their trapholes. Sorry for your loss.

Please provide some Screenshot from the private message, and again why newbies are trusting newbies and mixing paypal and bitcoins, it's only ending in scams!
