You let him off too easy. The most he suffered was a disappointed brother.

He will quickly get over it and continue scamming other people, since he has learned that the worst that will happen to him is an (already) disappointed brother.

you still have to trust to many people on the internet. this reminds me to use an escrow more often then i do.

Very nice story and it feels really nice to see scammer getting busted. I have also got scammed several times but never found who are the real scammers. Actually finding big scammers like owner/admin of scam PTC sites, Cloud mining ponzis, HYIPs would be a bigger success and even those scammer could be charged with legal actions with all the proofs like you have collected, if we can collect.

Great lesson on re-using screen names, and how easy it is to link things together to track someone down.

Unfortunately not all scammers will be so careless, but its nice to see at least one get caught.
Hopefully he learns his lesson and pays back his victims.
As someone who made mistakes when I was younger, I can say people definitely change. Hopefully this guy does too.

i have been scammed myself, lost about 1.5btc these peices of shit will never change, we need to be more aware of them and stop trusting people so much....... thanks for sharing

I never got scammed here couse I use to be very careful but scamers are improving and you have to be always alert.  I hate these people they normally never change.
Anyway has to be bad people in the word to make other people good.

it seems like any youngsters that sit behind their computer, because of the semi anonymity of internet starts feeling invulnerable so they start doing all kinds of stupid stuff without thinking that it may have some consequences.

It is good to stop things early on.  It is just too easy to play the games sometimes and when the first one pays off for them in what a person that age should consider a decent sized amount

Word, I agree.  If you have dox on a scammer then that's when the gloves come off and the tables turn.  But bravo to the op here for pushing back.   Some is always better than none.  I sometimes wonder what the bitcointalk scammers look like, what countries they're from, and everything else.
