why is it dropping like that???SD{}FDS{:
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Because the force of nature wills it. Hey, it's as good a guess as any.

Lol then you might want to seriously rethink whether bitcoin is for you, because it's been this volatile and worse.  And it'll be volatile again.  If you can't stand it,  open up a CD or a passbook savings account.

If the original Backside walkaround can prove to me they are the old owner of this account, I can update the email address to the email address of their choosing.
Backside walkaround has lost access to their account as they used someone else's email address to sign up, and the owner of the email address got tired of random email notifications from this site after a few months and reset the password.

I don't see this as a big problem, its only a 4% of its price. It can recover on next hours or next weeks. If you are a trader, this movements are good to trade. But if you go to long as an investment, don't look the price every day.

There is no real reason behind the current dump. It's pure manipulation from the highest levels. Very important thing is, have you sold your coins? If not, then you didn't lose anything. Keep holding out and don't panic. Don't feed the whales.

Ha ha. I have also just lost far far far more than $400. Hang on a second....that's wrong as I haven't sold. Haven't gained and haven't lost.

If the volatility worries you then get out and don't come back. People bought at $1100 a it dropped to $200, people bought at $790 and it dropped to $500 or so. These movement just happen whether a hack or some other crazy event. It happens quite often but it can also go UP just as quick so keep calm for fuck sake.

you didn't lose anything unless you sold.

This drop comes quite handy as I sold some one I know 0.5BTC for $622 yesterday, and bought just over 0.52BTC back at $597 for the same money just now. It's perhaps not the best profit out there, but I welcome every bit of profit that I can make. After a year every small profit I made will add up to a pretty decent number.

It just happened as soon as the Hillary health stuff has been announced. Weird, but it did. I'm not sure if it's about that 100% though, but might be a reason too.

Lol it's a 3% drop... You really can't handle that? Time to move on to less risky currency, may I suggest USD? Rofl. Why are you watching the price compared to USD so much? It doesn't make a difference if you HODL. 1BTC = 1BTC today just like it did yesterday and it will tomorrow.

Simple...

It was pumped by a large transaction the other day.

And dumped by another large transaction.

Quite possibly the same entity.

You've got to move millions of USD in coins to change the price that much.

WTF is happening, btc is down, btc is up, btc is stable for too long wtf wtf... Well bitcoin fluctuations are common thing, why people are so much surprised with this minor up and downs. People are earning money as I know with this low-high prices, not all people but good traders for sure.
I'm not afraid or confused with this fluctuations, people are trading, sending money then exchange it back in fiat, what ever happened we are over 600 $ and that is all its matter. Let it drop a bit, then rise again. Now you need to buy and wait a bit to rise and then to sell.

nothing new really!
bitcoin price went up from $570 to $620 and some whales were cashing out by dumping and also wanting to test the bottom resistance and as it looks like the price is already up to $605-$610

so why area all the fuss in this topic?!!

i have about 10 btc.. i have lost like $400 so far FUCK!!!!!! and i dont even have the time to transfer it and sell it before it craches becaue it would take ages!!! what the hell do i do???
poor thing, I lost 5k

then you should have bought 10 days ago @ $570 when everybody was saying price will rise, not after it went up on top of the peek!

I think too that there is nothing to worry about, 5% volatility of bitcoin is normal.
What's interesting is that nearly all major altcoins lost value as well.
Maybe somebody is pulling off his resources from the crypto market.

  It's me!!!

Well thats part of the risk on investing on bitcoin since we really dont know on what would  be the price of bitcoin in upcoming  hours or days. One things for sure   on bitcoin sudden price drop maybe lots of  holder have sold their bitcoin when the price hits $630 which causes the  price is lowering now.

A $50 flotation is not a nightmare and is nowhere near unheard of.  This what the stock market calls a "shock of calm waters" reaction.  It is based on nothing more than the lack of drama creating more drama.
Bitcoin and other cryptos are nearly completely fueled by opinions and mood, rumors and news.

I have a theory about why it's dropping. I think it is because we have seen quite nice price increase the last few weeks. This causes people with a big share to sell cause they will hold most profit from that. If you sell alot of bitcoin then the price goes down, so probably we are seeing this circle happening right now.

poor thing, I lost 5k
Because of what? If you sell your coins now and you won't rebuy it then you will lost it. If you still have them, then you lost exactly zero.

Listen, everyone. It is normal market behaviour, it is called consolidation, and usually happen before HUGE leap. Prepare for something amazing.

This time we will see maybe $900 - this is your LAST call to buy!

I think it was more an attempt to trigger stop loss orders. If the plan worked out well, then we could have gone to very low $500's. Either way, the price has seen a good +$30 dump in a matter of minutes.

What is happening? What is happening is that somebody just sold a lot of coins and that made the Bitcoin price drop. That's nothing but a common thing since there's a lot of rich people involved in bitcoin trading. It's not shocking that it rose up to 628$ and then now it's just 608$. We should actually be grateful because the previous pump made us rise from 540-560$ into 600-620$. Atleast we were able to witness an actual movement.

Do you have proof that a single person have the abillity to influence the price shift that much? Is there any evidence on a exchange to substantiate this claim? People who have been in the Bitcoin scene for a long time, will know that price volatility is part of the game now, and have been for years.

We do not panic, when the price drop within these margins, because we know it will bounce back and recover in the long term. Pull the graphs and you will see what I mean. ^smile^

why is it dropping like that???SD{}FDS{:

i have about 10 btc.. i have lost like $400 so far FUCK!!!!!! and i dont even have the time to transfer it and sell it before it craches becaue it would take ages!!! what the hell do i do???

As long as you haven't sold any coins it is just a book loss!!
The same the other way around. When people are freaking out because we jumped for instance $200 per coin and they are saying I have some nice profits this is wrong as well because it's just a book win if you haven't sold.

You should've expected this to happen since bitcoin price is volatile, but hey, at least the price is at 600+ at preev rate now. Hopefully it won't crash again, but I'm not hoping for anything.

Exactly. Panik beeing the worst advisor. The Halving Effect still beeing due, I would load up small heaps instead. Christmas time beeing the better point for sales.

Better to wait for next pump which may happen within short period of time, i see nothing to panic as price have good buy support at $600 range. But how you lost $400 with 10 btc, this was only hardly $20 price dump so i think it is $200 around.  Grin

Remeber you will only loss if you sell at the current price, so better hold and wait for another leg up.

This is good value when we compared with last month's value. As you said bitcoin volatile stock which we can't predict the price easily and I think op might faced any lose because of scammers. However I could say that bitcoin is in good value now.

It's good that more and more people keep their coins in a wallet. First of all it's safer and furthermore decreases the panic sell effect. If we had to sell and rebuy every time the price shifts 3% we would never get anywhere.

Fear runs high in the bitcoin world. There are tons of morons that don't understand bitcoin is going to be huge in the long term and short term price doesn't matter, so any price swings will trigger big sells and buys, but the overall trend is still uptrend and it's only getting better.

How come other people began panicking like this? Are they new to this kind of movement?

What else if it is a $100 price decrease? lol.

There is no way that price will only goes fon an increase only. That is not the real thing in bitcoin price.

I have a theory about why it's dropping. I think it is because we have seen quite nice price increase the last few weeks. This causes people with a big share to sell cause they will hold most profit from that. If you sell alot of bitcoin then the price goes down, so probably we are seeing this circle happening right now.

After the past year of events where nearly every week had something good or bad in the Bitcoin world or the larger economy, a week of calmer waters makes people feel the need to act and that is action in itself.

The drop probably happened because the market corrected from a bubble state due to the rapid size of roughly $20 from where it had just broken $600. A common thing that happens with the Bitcoin market (and most markets) is if it rises too quickly the market will see a rapid selloff to return it to roughly where it was before it accelerated upwards.

The Up and down occurs with all the currencies including fiat and digital. Nothing is stable in financial world.
Also, the 9/11 attacks bring forth a fear based sell it all and run syndrome that always creates monetary action, good or bad.

Bitcoin price movement is just like Stock Market. The stock market indicators have a solid set of parameters inside a company portfolio that can change the price, things like hard and soft, liquid and firm assets linked to a company.

Circulation of Bitcoin has got decreased? From where do you get that impression? Circulating coins only decreases when more people are holding their coins in cold storage.

Bitcoins is dropping all the time at the end of this year the coin wont get his old value back and that is only because most of the people are holding and not spending just one coin and that is sad.

Bitcoin can sometimes test the character of a person. It will play with your emotions like a girl you are courting. It turns you into an avid follower because you have to monitor the prices every so often. Such is the influence that bitcoin has on us that it is almost an individual that has its own life.

The drop was because the price went up by like 50 dollar and then people sold all they had which caused prices to drop again and now it seems stable between 600-610 and I think it will rise again when it has been stable for a while and then we will see the same thing happen but in the 700 range instead of 600 and then rinse repeat.

patience is the key. if you are investing then there is no point fretting over minor price corrections. the price will go up again. the fact that dip didn't touch 580$ support barrier means the bulls are doing their work. 615-20 $ will be major point to look for break or dip again.

You shouldnt be selling... if anything I recommend on holding.. it out as much as possible when your #`s reach to a ideal minimum.

And thats if you really have to sell it if you have credit card debt or something like I did.

Its hard to guess why price go down, or up. Many times there are things beyond our understanding. This little fluctuations doesn't worry me, I get use to it, and so should everyone else. There is no need for panic every time price drop a bit.
Yes we was above 700 dollars, and then bellow 550 dollars, and now we are going up, and little down. There can be like million different explanations why price is going up and down so fast, and why make so big difference between daily low and max price.
Maybe this is just preparing the field for higher prices, I don't know, I`m just glad that we are above 600 dollars.

I ask my self is EU policy for more tight control of Bitcoin trading and flow had any to last BTC price dump?

I would say no, but maybe some whales sow opportunity to short on BTC, i for sure not dumping nor trading with BTC, no way you can predict next dump, only thing I am sure BTC soon will be over 2000$ and traders n BTC will be in lose
But who ever wana trade i suggest to play with alt and shit coins there you can have ore luck but also more negative value if you don`t investigate in what you are betting

I just noticed that the price of bitcoin is still stable, and the price has become higher than ever. Well, I'm just grateful for the bitcoin's price does not drop drastically to a very low price. however, I do not care about that for now, because now I'm focused to collect bitcoin, so if the price of bitcoin down or drop, I think I would buy it in considerable amounts

The current price higher than ever? By far not. Not sure how you come up with that. That it doesn't drop to insanely low levels is due to people that are willing to support certain price levels. That prevents the price to go rock bottom. At every few bucks the price goes down, a buyer will pop up and start supporting the price.

Current bitcoin price is good. Recently a Chinese exchange just ran away peacefully, however, it cause the huge price drop. well but that's make sense.
It has recovered well.

I heard about this news recently which could definitely  the cause of bitcoins sudden price drop again but for now  bitcoin price is  starting to be stable again and  i assume it would  start to stabilize again like  in previous weeks but still its a good price to buy more bitcoin until it moves again.

If you’re a miner or investing in bitcoin, then those drops are really significant but you cant really say that bitcoin is dropping because you have to compare of a long time span the value

You're absolutely right. All the things we know about bitcoin is applicable only to the time now and for the future it depends on the situation. So, bitcoin is very flexible so I never saw a decrease in the bitcoin be bad for us, for it is only a temporary change

people should always look at the long term, but a lot people here don't care about the long term value. these people are only interested in quick and easy profits. everything else is just not important.

Now i predict that bitcoin is not going down again, may be something litter bit downing but it doesn't matter for bitcoin price, because the time has been started of growing the bitcoin, and also don't take tension because bitcoin is a crypto currency, and all crypto currency has a quality to down and growing up.

I don't see the price go down more then 500 USD. If it will miners will have to mine with loss, which they can't do forever, Which means the price will rise, or the difficulty will go down.
But having seen a lot of the price pump was from the miners it means they won't let the price go down again.

Not after they pumped it for almost a half year.

the miner can mine with those price because they have still margin on profit, the diff can stay there forever without rising if this will allow them to do a profitable mining, so the diff can rise and fall but can also remain the same, i think this is happening right now, there is a neutral change

Bitcoin is being pumped left right and center. Only if the value goes up will there be more stability and fiat whales will have trouble pumping. Bitcoin whales however...

This is what i Beleive has happened,  anyone who is on the fence about selling will hopefully sell once they get a fright with a sudden drop.  The result is that the whales can buy cheaper coins and also prevents the weak hands from cashing out at a higher price which would then result in a smaller pump next time.

I think as of now bitcoin is getting from 590$ to 600$+ So it is obviously a great thing for us. Bitcoin value got pumped only its not dropping now. month a before bitcoin price drop is due to bitfinix crises and bifinix as got fixed and they into action again. No need to worry about the pump or dump.

The price is slowly getting back to 600 and maybe even under 600. I find that worrying since we are then out in the open for a price back to 550.
For me now it is key we maintain 600 USD..

If we are talking about the big boys (whales), then they have a well proportioned balance on the fiat and the BTC side. Especially when they form groups to coordinate pumps and dumps from time to time. It's more a team effort rather than a solo pumper causing the price to go up and down.

You can only say that you have lost when you have disposed off at the current price which is lower than what you bought at. The price keeps on oscillating and there is no reason for alarm when it drops. What would you say if it rose by more than 100% now?

Ahaha, you too thinking of those who only complained of a loss or those who just want a quick way to make a profit. Bitcoin as with other currencies so we also have to have the patience to do it and get the advantages are balanced. so, if that is the case then they will do a pretty stupid action that is selling part or all of BTC owned and then use the money for fun

I do not know but I do not think that it is a bad idea if the Bitcoin is dropping because then the value will get lower.
You might even be able to buy more Bitcoin because of that which can always be good.

Thats  why its called speculation since we  wont  really know what would be the price on future. Those  people  who said  about  that most of them  have  high hopes for bitcoin but  there are really some circumstances which   really affects bitcoin price . It would really need a good adoption  to increase its price. For me  as  of todays price we should  buy more bitcoins but dont  risk all your money.

That is why as speculators, we must also learn to manage our expectations. We can't always hope that the price will just keep on increasing. There will be periods when it will surge, plummet, move sideways and stagnate. That's all part of a normal cycle. It would be asking too much if we keep expecting that the price increases according to our wishes.

The bitcoin has a unstable value so yes he can drop a little bit but he can also rise a little bit most of the time it only goes by little staps but some times you can have big drops and big rises. yiu will never know what the price will do to the bitcoin.

you didn't lose anything unless you sold.

and besides, with that many bitcoin you should be fine. As long as you hold.
Just hold yor bitcoin. Dont get panic. If you sell it now. It will only benefit big whales.Patience is required a lot to earn more in bitcoins.Just hold till end of this year and see what happens.

Now you need to buy and wait a bit to rise and then to sell.
the bitcoin is not dropping is seems to be dropping because lots of people are just holding the bitcoin and that is not good for the price as you can see he is only dropping more in the last view days

poor thing, I lost 5k

you didn't lose anything unless you sold.

and besides, with that many bitcoin you should be fine. As long as you hold.
Just hold yor bitcoin. Dont get panic. If you sell it now. It will only benefit big whales.Patience is required a lot to earn more in bitcoins.Just hold till end of this year and see what happens.

Holding your bitcoin  wont  lose you anything . you are  right    its better to hold  than to sold it cheap  because  big whales  would  really benefit such actions. Holding  more on your bitcoin would  not   hurt  you though.

why is it dropping like that???SD{}FDS{:

i have about 10 btc.. i have lost like $400 so far FUCK!!!!!! and i dont even have the time to transfer it and sell it before it craches becaue it would take ages!!! what the hell do i do???

The bitcoin is not dropping becuase the price will only rise till the end of this year and i dont think there would happen allot to the bitcoin becuase i know for sure that not many peopel are holding right now.

it actually dropped some time ago due to bitfinex hack and chinese exchange fake volume, so it was true but right now it recovered pretty well, nothing to worry about

i don't know what is what, because without doing deep research it looks from first blush like the price is up a little.  that is based on nothing more than the browser ticker, but while the price they fetch might be off a little, it still comes from the same sources day after day and the price is sitting at $613, it was $600 last week by those widgets and $610 just two days ago

At the moment the Bitcoin is not dropping and I do not think that the Bitcoin is going to drop sooner or later because I think that the price is first going to rise again.
It has to rise because it has dropped already so it cannot drop again.

People predicted that he price will be up to thousand dollars by the end of this year. I saw posts in february, but when I see the situation now, I'm sceptical. Should we buy know?
i definitely dont see the price hitting a number around 1000 by the end of the year. I'm hoping it hits 750 by the end. but right now it looks like its not going to break 700 anytime soon.

rather the price increased about $ 30 but looks prices have started to come back down because Christmas is still far away, at least we must be a little realistic that prices will not rise as fast as it was.

Well, I think the price of bitcoin down it is a natural thing. but I believe the price of bitcoin is currently rising, because soon the end of the year, so a lot of people who invest their money into bitcoin. bitcoin prices already back up, and this will probably be a high price. if there is a decrease i guess it is a matter of course, because it is one of the advantages of the bitcoin
