Maybe large holders will move into trusted altcoins during these periods of uncertainty like Andreas mentioned

nothing new really!
bitcoin price went up from $570 to $620 and some whales were cashing out by dumping and also wanting to test the bottom resistance and as it looks like the price is already up to $605-$610

so why area all the fuss in this topic?!!

i have about 10 btc.. i have lost like $400 so far FUCK!!!!!! and i dont even have the time to transfer it and sell it before it craches becaue it would take ages!!! what the hell do i do???
poor thing, I lost 5k

then you should have bought 10 days ago @ $570 when everybody was saying price will rise, not after it went up on top of the peek!

I think too that there is nothing to worry about, 5% volatility of bitcoin is normal.
What's interesting is that nearly all major altcoins lost value as well.
Maybe somebody is pulling off his resources from the crypto market.

  It's me!!!

A lot of bitcoin enthusiasts have been moving into Monero, for sure. Roger Ver recently mentioned he bought a lot.

Well thats part of the risk on investing on bitcoin since we really dont know on what would  be the price of bitcoin in upcoming  hours or days. One things for sure   on bitcoin sudden price drop maybe lots of  holder have sold their bitcoin when the price hits $630 which causes the  price is lowering now.

A $50 flotation is not a nightmare and is nowhere near unheard of.  This what the stock market calls a "shock of calm waters" reaction.  It is based on nothing more than the lack of drama creating more drama.
Bitcoin and other cryptos are nearly completely fueled by opinions and mood, rumors and news.

I have a theory about why it's dropping. I think it is because we have seen quite nice price increase the last few weeks. This causes people with a big share to sell cause they will hold most profit from that. If you sell alot of bitcoin then the price goes down, so probably we are seeing this circle happening right now.

Because of what? If you sell your coins now and you won't rebuy it then you will lost it. If you still have them, then you lost exactly zero.

Listen, everyone. It is normal market behaviour, it is called consolidation, and usually happen before HUGE leap. Prepare for something amazing.

This time we will see maybe $900 - this is your LAST call to buy!

I think it was more an attempt to trigger stop loss orders. If the plan worked out well, then we could have gone to very low $500's. Either way, the price has seen a good +$30 dump in a matter of minutes.

What is happening? What is happening is that somebody just sold a lot of coins and that made the Bitcoin price drop. That's nothing but a common thing since there's a lot of rich people involved in bitcoin trading. It's not shocking that it rose up to 628$ and then now it's just 608$. We should actually be grateful because the previous pump made us rise from 540-560$ into 600-620$. Atleast we were able to witness an actual movement.

Do you have proof that a single person have the abillity to influence the price shift that much? Is there any evidence on a exchange to substantiate this claim? People who have been in the Bitcoin scene for a long time, will know that price volatility is part of the game now, and have been for years.

We do not panic, when the price drop within these margins, because we know it will bounce back and recover in the long term. Pull the graphs and you will see what I mean. ^smile^

That is the norms. If it doesn't go up or down wildly then we should worry. Smiley
