A starting bid of $650 with a reserve for an admitted unverifiable item.

Is the OP the seller of the item on eBay?

If any admins are around, Please move the post to the hardware selling forum, I'm not sure how to do that myself Smiley

Yes, I am OP of the auction, and I can answer questions about it here if you'd like.
You can do this yourself by clicking "Move topic" in the left down corner.

This story reminds me of a conversation I had with a guy at the HackerDojo a couple years back...

Yessir, it sounds like he's saying that Satoshi used a BFL machine.   Cheesy

Is this still operational?
Can it even mine anymore or it is just an overpriced heater for the winter that is coming? Grin

Well its completely worthless piece of hardware so he decided to fabricate a story so it would sell for the same price he paid 2 years ago.
Since nobody knows who Satoshi is, there is no proof whether his story is true or not.

So people are actually just going to buy this for nostalgic purposes.

That piece of history from the dawn of bitcoin that is just nostalgia.

apparently it got flagged by ebay. Wonder what scam he was trying to pull.

He probably bought that ASIC on Amazon for $600 without learning about what difficulty is and couldn't get a refund in time so he made up this elaborate story to recover some of his money.

I also don't know what Steve Woz has anything to do with Satoshi or Bitcoin. I don't think Steve is even into mining.

The serial number is from a late batch jally; which makes this story absolute bs.  Was good for a laugh.

There's more to the story than that. Carlos said that he was approached by someone about three years ago who claimed  that he was SN. He never said it actually was him. It should be noted that this auction was ended early and his Twitter account was deleted--either voluntarily or involuntarily--cause unknown.

It's not totally out of character for Steve either. See https://www.reddit.com/r/technology/comments/xn46y/steve_wozniak_uses_a_fake_id_and_pads_of_2_bought/
