Hi, I have traded on bittrex for 2 years, I suffered those full of scams era, and survived. I have never heard bittrex has been hacled, is it true? Or do I miss some news?

Their founders were computer security specializers, so I trust it very much. Is bittrex very safe and secure, have you been stolen by hackers when you have 2FA?

Welcome to discuss, thanks!

I think that Bittrex is a save website and I am using it already it long time.
If you use 2FA it's much more secure than without... at all I recomend using Bittrex and there hasn't been any hack I know. Smiley

Bittrex is never hacked, I have 2FA as well. Never hacked there. Even polo was hacked in 2014. Bittrex security is no.1

Everyone hire security experts and everyone gets hacked ,even if they didn't get hacked yet , they may get hacked in the future.
I wouldn't recommend storing your funds there (at least not for the long term), storing them for exchanging in a short period is totally fine.
Probably the good thing about Bittrex and Poloniex is that they store most of their funds (80-90% in cold storage) , so even If hackers get access to the funds , they will only get some , nothing big.

I no more worry about the security of exchange sites and safety of investments there.
After Cryptsy, I got habits of moving my bitcoins forth and back almost daily with my wallets, it got one more confirmation with recent bitfinex incident.

they're all vulnerable to being hacked. there are hundreds of people trying to find a way into places like this all the time. you can't account for every single angle.

best you can do is get your coins in and out as quickly as possible. it's an alt only exchange so there's no excuse to leave anything on there. i'm sure the guys who own the site would agree.

i have been using bittrex exchange too over than 1 year and i have no issue during use this exchange but even though bittrex was never hacked but doesn't mean they 100% secure and also even though you had very often using them for trading but don't ever save all of your funds only in 1 exchange because it is too risky

You/we cannot assure any online exchange as 100% secure. But the only way that i know to be secured is withdraw chinna as soon as possible.

1. Basically every exchange is advertised to have state of art level of security. Created by the very best security specialists.
And as we can see that is not always true/sufficient because they got hacked anyway.

2. For your information: other 'leading' exchanges have implemented 2FA a swell, for example Bitfinex - and as you can see it didn't stop hackers from emptying their wallets.
Your individual account might be a bit more secure, but core security of exchange is not dependent on 2FA.

Now a days no thing is fully secure because the hacking methods improve as the protection methods , every one of us has to be careful because every thing is posdible on the internet , so I recommend to withdraw your money after trading and do not let them in any exchange , Bitfinex hack taught us important lesson .

No i haven't heard any hack events with bittrex in past and i am also using them for years without any problem. Better to enable 2FA for your account security and trust them to secure your bitcoins and other many alts. But i will not say they are completely bullet proof against hack, better to not keep all bitcoin in any exchanger.

Bittrex hasn't been hacked yet, so it could be said to be secure and safe, at least for now. This doesn't mean it won't get hacked in the future, but it is still one of the top exchanges to date so you shouldn't worry too much. Still, you must always do your own security measures like using cold storage, multiple exchanges etcetera. You shouldn't entrust ALL your coins on a single exchange no matter how trusted/stable.

I think bittrex is a safe exchanger, nothing has happened to my account till now. never keep all your coins in an exchanger.

Your individual account might be a bit more secure, but core security of exchange is not dependent on 2FA.

For 2nd points, in the end of 2013, many customers in okcoin got hacked even they enabled 2FA and SMS verification. So 2FA is not security God, depends on the code bug, top hackers can hack the account regardless of 2FA, like okcoin case.

"Your individual account might be a bit more secure, but core security of exchange is not dependent on 2FA." Due to okcoin case I said above, you can understand why I asked anyone got hacked with 2FA on exchanges

well as of this moment yes bittrex still safe for my trade and it keeps working properly the thing is there's no so called safe in the eyes of the hackers so we need to be more extra careful placing all of our money inside the exchange.

i believe that is right, if i am not mistaken they have some security experts among them and i think they built the exchange engine themselves.

i also have been trading there for 2 years and i never had any problem with this site. and never heard of any hack that is site's fault but people get their accounts hacked all the time in any place.

with all that said, i don't exclude them from the general list of risky exchangers because they might have a better team or even better security but in the end any other place was seemingly safe before they got hacked to you should always have this risk in mind when you invest.

Bittrex was pretty safe in the last years. I really hope that they do the right things security wise.
But this doesn't mean that bad things cannot happen. If an exchange is not hacked from outside, at some point somebody from inside can get greedy.
I also have quite an amount of alts at bittrex.
But clearly don't keep too much money on exchange. Any exchange.

Used Bittrex for a few weeks, had to open two tickets due to security problems, and now 15 days later both my tickets (204818) are still waiting for a response from their support. And I lost half my value in that time, they say they respond to all tickets in 24 to 48 hours, I wish. Please help me update this to a positive comment Bittrex.
