Looking to buy DOGE-themed Rare Pepes with BTC or DOGE.

Willing to trade for other Rare Pepes as well, or buy them for XCP.

I don't know what happened to eddie13 (hope he's OK) but he gave me some PEPETRAINs and SOGGYPEPEs and I would like to trade a few of them for cards of equal value I don't have. Always looking to expand my collection.

Can't believe this thread is so dead... Rare Pepes are coming back in a big way thanks to attention brought from the $PEPE ETH shit token. I'll chalk it up to the forum being largely dead. Most activity has migrated to Twitter, Discord and Telegram.

Anyway, if you're a long-time Rare Pepe enthusiast looking to sell some of your Pepe bags, please contact me. Thanks.

You should take into consideration using pepecoin.org ($PEP) possibility of inscribing. Would make sense to use the only available Pepe layer-1 blockchain ... The community would welcome you with open arms! See you and all the best Smiley (https://pepinals.com)

Rare Pepes are the first community-driven artistic collection of tokens. $PEP is the ~100th iteration of Pepe. There's a huge difference.

I am citing from the GitHub: "Unlike all iterations before it, Pepecoin is a layer 1 coin. This means there are no liquidity pools to drain, no blacklisting wallets, and no confusing smart contracts. Pepecoin is a simple blockchain." (https://github.com/pepecoinppc/pepecoin)

There are definitely too many iterations, but none of them owns its own blockchain/network. But if I am wrong I would be happy if you tell me so?

As always: All the best.

Sure, that would be this one, launched in March 2016. You already commented in that thread so you're obviously aware of its existence.

Good Morning  Smiley,

yea, I am well aware of it and even own some. This chain is definitely out dated if I am not wrong, at least the majority of the links do not work (official website, wallet link and so on). One of the explorer links do work, but here its about a PoS Coin called "Meme" rather than "Pepe" (I know the story behind it, but still..) Besides this, I think you are also well aware of the fact, that the project relaunched as an ERC-20 Token (Ethereum) in 2023 - why would they do that if they have their own Network? I guess not because of the low fees.. Even if their Network would be still online: where could I buy the "Meme" coin?

All the best.

Besides this: If you ask me pepecoin.io has the coolest website I have seen so far in the crypto space, also their based.ai website is really cool. But if you dive into the project (have you done so?) you will notice that there are some shady things going on.

The goal of Memecoins about Pepe the frog should be a pepe based economy, right? I think the ultimate goal for achieving this should be a pepe themed copy of bitcoin. And this is exactly pepecoin.org which is part of the bitcoin family. But please, correct me if I'm wrong about it.

But rare pepes are NFTS which are really cool, but how can you pay using them?

Thank you and thank you for discussing!

And wouldn’t it be the ultimate goal for all Pepe enthusiasts to have a Pepe-themed PoW coin for establishing an economy, as well as a Layer 1 blockchain for inscribing Pepe art and everything related to Pepe?

Everything with no inherent value trends to zero. Rare Pepes have inherent value as a collectible.

Today, there's literally 1 million tokens being launched every week. That means there's 99 tokens being launched every minute, or 1.65 tokens every second. I get your coin is its own blockchain, and that's cool. But without constant marketing and attention, it will probably fall to the wayside, along with everything else. That doesn't mean that artists and whoever else shouldnt use your coin to make Pepescriptions and whatnot, I'm just not personally interested.

I know the value of rare Pepes, and I love them. But I think rare Pepes can definitely coexist with Pepecoin.org. Still, it would be cool if Pepinals were used instead of Ethereum NFTs—but that’s another discussion.

Yup, you’re totally right, and I appreciate that you acknowledge how we stand out as a coin in a crypto market currently flooded with tokens.

Currently, we’re trying to do exactly this: unite and shift the entire Pepe community (which is HUGE) under one umbrella with its own blockchain: Pepecoin.org. I believe that only then can we flourish the way we’re meant to and become stronger than ever before.

Are the rumors that someone is building a game for this true?

If so I'm looking to buy 1btc of pepecash, whoever is looking to sell can charge me a fee, but im serious. PM me if youre interested in selling me some of the rarest pepe cash.

Also how was the 700 million distributed originally? The devs obviously have a great deal if there was no ICO...Like if the coins were not distributed by mining or ICO... how did they originally get out?

I'm in love with this concept if the devs can make an exchange based on pepecash where you can trade all of the other pepe memes. That would legitimize everything that has become the rarepepe market....

Did you ever buy the 1 BTC of Pepecash? It would have been epic, in a way similar to Laszlo's pizza purchase. But unlike the pizza the Pepecash would still have a positive return. Just not as positive as keeping it in BTC.

Interestingly, RAREPEPE and a handful of other famous pepes are a few of the only crypto assets to actually outperform the price of BTC over the years (PEPECASH not being one of them).

Happy 10th Birthday to Rare Pepes!

When I met Shawn Leary (Rare Pepe Scientist) in Vegas, he said his success was thanks to being in the right Telegram groups as the right time. Well I certainly was not in the those groups, LOL. I didn't even download Telegram until 2018 or 2019, and didn't buy my first Rare Pepes until 2021... That was the year it all clicked for me: the idea of digital trading cards on the blockchain.

Anyway, happy birthday to the world's first collection of community-driven Bitcoin art. I did a small writeup for it on Twitter, most of the information is from this thread:

https://x.com/dogermint/status/2100471087486403006

And for fun, here are a few of my favorite Rare Pepes I've acquire over the years:

YOOOOOOO happy rare pepe 10th! Bit late to the party, some of my favorites:

someone who sees the value of rarepepes has pretty good taste in my book Grin good to see people recognizing the creative and historical value of these. I feel somehow the current NFT scene since cryptopunks doesn't capture the tradeability rarepepe had. it reminds me more of lootbox-type assets than community made pokemon cards. when you compare them that way, the difference becomes much clearer: each card is a *meme*, actually much closer to a non-fractionally-divisible memecoin as assets literally giving voice the "rare memes" meme, rather than currency as a societal valuation instrument for market attention. still don't really know what to make of this tbh except that rare pepes occupy a unique and imo more interesting spot between memecoins and what NFTs became.

The best part is like most amazing things it was just some people meming and dreaming, pushing the boundaries of what was possible largely for the fun of it. At the very, very beginning nobody ever seriously thought these would be valuable, so in the first few series absurdism, critique and self-reference abound, fresh fingerprints of memetic life. Later on, people realized they could make money by churning out cards with lots of issuance and lower effort edits so it became a bit of a caricature of itself in some senses, and then what/which submissions should be allowed into a set vs what shouldn't be became a hot topic, scammers were showing up more and more etc, typical crypto wild west stuff. all from people just trying to make "let me show you my rarest pepes" real in a sort of performantly ironic navel-gazing memeception. perfectly brilliant in ideation, and like all things as such, created a moment in time that can't be perfectly remade because its effects changed the situation that created it, but can shape the future into something that rhymes, which is the whole thing.

anyway. yeah rare pepe cool i guess maybe possibly it might be the case Wink

If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine and my tunes were played on the harp unstrung,
would you hear my voice come through the music? Would you hold it near as it were your own?

That one's a banger.

Yeah I agree with everything you said -- there was nothing like Rare Pepes before and its proven impossible to recreate.
